I posted this in my "which car seat" thread but I decided to post it here to make sure more people saw it. I know a lot of people have Britax seats.

I was in Toys R Us yesterday and there was a notice at the front of the store that Britax Boulevard car seats have been recalled. The Britax site should have information about the recall.

The "recall" wording of theirs is odd. All it says is to stop using the tether when DC gets to 50 pounds, for those seats made between March and August of '06. Isn't quite the same image/thought process that "recall" gives me. :) I know, I know, it's an official word used for a broad variety of situations, but still. :upsidedow

Right. If you have a Britax BLVD mfg'd between March 1, 2006 and Aug 1, 2006 then you have to stop using the top tether once the child reaches 50lbs. This is because in an accident, when the seat is fwd facing it can slip from the upright position into the recline position potentially causing injury to the child. The good news? Most kids outgrow car seats height before weight anyway so it's unlikely this will greatly impact anyone who happens to own one of these particular Blvd seats. They fixed the problem after Aug 1 '06 so there shouldn't be any of the recall ones being sold any more.
