If this site is to be believed, Susan Boyle is already in talks with Sony BMG. I'm afraid she did nothing for me. She was good, but not outstanding, and I really hope she doesn't win. I rarely go for sob story contestants. If she was attractive and didn't look twice her age, no-one would give two hoots about her.
Stavros Flatley and his boy were hilarious and Flawless were awesome. Couldn't give a monkey's about the rest. Good Evans were excruciatingly cheesy, although the lad was good.
I am inclined to agree with you. I think we, as a nation, tend to root for the underdog. She didn't have anything going for her but it was a surprise for the cynics (me included) when she belted out her song. The choice of song was quite poignant too. Having said that, I thought Flawless were more talented.
I didn't agree with George Sampson winning either, he was good but not outstanding. His sob-story about living in a council house was a bit insulting too - I was brought up in a council-house but I didn't consider myself a charity case or 'deprived'.
