I have ordered two of these bottles and was wondering if I should worry about leakage when carrying them around the parks in my back pack

I bought two of these. One for me and one for my hubby for work. We drink a lot of water. Well his bottle is doing great. Mine broke and started leaking after about the 3rd or 4th use I was so bummed about it. I ended up sending a letter to the company about it and they sent me a coupon for a brand new one, but i did not replace it yet.

In theory it seems like such a great idea. I've read mixed reviews and it seems to be that some are manufactured well...and others don't hold up as well.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed. :upsidedow

We purchased 4 of the bottles for use in WDW in April. I’ve given then a rough workout with softball and baseball games and recent trips. I use the bottle to filter the nasty hotel water when traveling and it did well through the airport. I simply go through security with it “dry” and fill it from a fountain or drink machine when safely on the other side. My 4 year old son uses one when we go in the car and they have not failed or leaked! I’ve attached an aluminum clip (similar to a rock climbing clip that is “not for climbing”) to each bottle with a different color for each person and easy clipping to the stroller or belt loop. It seems like the leaky problems come from not tightening the filter or cap, but could simply be a bad batch of bottles. While ours haven’t been to WDW yet they’ve been to several cities and passed the small child test. The small plastic cap on top will likely be pitched in the first 30 seconds as it has no leash or attachment when not in place.

Thanks! I'm very excited to get ours. It's good to know you haven't experienced leakage even with the plastic cap gone.

We have two of these, and they went to WDW with us last fall. If you don't screw the cap on just so, it will leak, but as long as you make sure it's on there correctly, you'll be fine. The only thing I don't like about them is how hard it is to get the water out. I mean, I understand why, but it's annoying when I'm super thirsty and just want a big guzzle of water. The filter does its job, though!! I don't like our local water, and I can fill up my bottle from the tap, and it's great!

I took four of them last trip and they worked great. When I first got them they did leak when you squeezed them. I realized that the bigger cap wasn't screwing down tight enough because the plastic ring thing got in the way. Got rid of it and it was fine.

To replace the ring, I found insulated sleeves in the camping section of Walmart. They give it a bit of insulation and have a carabiner on it so you can clip it to something and a handle.

Also if you have water bottle holders that are sometimes on the sides of a backpack they will fit there (without the extra sleeve).

This is one disadvantage that the Britta's have vs the Bobble's.

When you replace a Bobble Filter you get a whole new spout and cap. I can see having to replace a Britta bottle after awhile if you maybe have family like to chew on things.

I find that the Brita bottles are really convenient and durable. I haven't had a single issue. The only downside, as someone mentioned, is that the cap isn't attached so it's super easy to lose.

Also, the bottle doesn't hold as much water as you think it would. That's no big deal though considering you should be near lots of water sources throughout your trip anyway :)

Tip: You can get free ice! Ask for ice and fill your bottle up and fill up with water for ice cold drink all day hehe
