I think these are discontinued. At any rate, they are hard to find. These are the individual Brita water bottles with a built-in filter, so they self-filter as you drink. At $5.99 each, they are more economical than buying individual bottles all day long. (And the one I received still had a Rite-Aid sticker on it for $8.99! I assume this vendor is a liquidator of some sort.)

Thought I would pass this along for those interested.

I have been looking all over for these! I had heard about them for last year's trip, but could never find them! Thank you thank you thank you :worship:

I just found them on clearance (filters too!) at our local Brooks Pharmacy. Bottles were 3.00 each and filters were 2.00 each.

Thanks for the link.... I just ordered 6 more bottles. I had gotten some filters off of ebay a few months ago, but needed more bottles for an extended family vacation to WDW next summer.

Thanks for the link. How much did they charge you for shipping?

If that filters is as slow as the sink one.....you might finish drinking the whole bottle by the end of the day

with the brita bottles to get the water through faster you just squsseze the bottle as you suck the water out. works everytime for me!

Twende, I bought 4 bottles and shipping was $3.95 for all 4. They were very quick, too. They shipped right away and it was priority mail, but I didn't pay any extra for priority beyond the $3.95.

By the way, note that 3 of the styles are $5.99 but the flag style is $9.99. So anyone who is keeping an eye on the cost might want to be aware of that.

I just ordered 5 bottles! My father and his wife are always lugging cases of water around on trips- that will be great for them, and great for our own trip to WDW in Dec, with a longer one following in 2006! I appreaciate the gift idea! :worship: :flower3:

Just a word to the wise...

Drinking water out of these is harder than sucking a shake through a straw. Yes, if you squeeze it hard it is easier, but that's only when the bottle is full. When the bottle is half full or less, the pressure doesn't work. It is soooo difficult!

IMHO, it isn't worth the headache.

I don't think anyone died from drinking the water out of the faucets and water fountains down in WDW. :)

I had that problem - until I soaked the filter in water for a day (weighing it down with a heavy cup) - and then it worked just fine. As long as the filter doesn't dry out over a period of several days, it should work okay when it's half full or less.

We used one on our last trip and it worked great and took the weird taste out of the Dis Water. I don't think the park water would make anyone sick, it just smells and tastes different than most water and this filter, IMHO, helps that!

We found too that once the filter was soaked that it filtered quicker. You just have to adjust how you drink out of it. It is more straw like than a normal water bottle where you tip the bottle up and it runs out. With these you suck and squeeze and you have plently of water! :rotfl:

I never had any problem drinking out of ours. IMHO the water at the parks is disgusting. THis bottle was great. We would get a cup of ice from a stand and then fill up the bottles at a water fountain.

you can still get these online. do a google search for water filter bottle and they come up.

You won't die now but you will at an earlier time than you would if you had filtered the water through. :goodvibes This is proven because it gets rid of the nasty chemicals and so forth in the water all together. IMHO it's worth it.

The water may not kill me, but it does give me an awful stomachache. The Brita filter bottles have been fabulous and I've converted several doubting friends after they try one. You're supposed to get the filter wet by running a bottle through it before using it to drink with and, having done that, I've never had a problem with slow/difficult drinking. I do squeeze it, but that's easy enough that my DD was doing it when she was 5 and we got our first one.

Make sure you stock up on filters when you find them, though. Since these are discontinued, the filters probably are as well.......
