We're thinking about getting a Brita pitcher and keeping it in our Owner's Locker. I know some of you probably use them in your DVC room to filter water. My question is, however, do you take the filtered water into the parks with you. And if so, what do you use to carry the water into the parks?

At this point in time, we usually buy bottled water to take into the parks, and a gallon or two of water to use for coffee in our room. But DH says by the end of the day, his bottled water starts to taste "off". And I pretty much like having bottles that can be disposed of during the day. I usually take two bottles of water with me each morning, and that can weigh down my backpack pretty much, and eat up a lot of backpack space too.

I'm thinking that we may still buy the bottled water, and use the Brita pitcher just for coffee.

Any thoughts or comments??

I agree that the water bottles weigh me down - we've taken to going up to places and ask for a glass of ice water - they use filtered water thru the coke machines - and its always cold, so it works for us!!

We purchased the BRITA water bottles with the filters......load them up with ice in the morning and enjoy cold filtered water all day. When the ice melts, we just ask the vendors for a refill - they all have been happy to accomodate us

I think the Brita water bottles have been discontinued in the United States, so that's probably not an option for us.

Same as the PP, I know they used to use tap water at the restaurants, but now they just use the water out of the coke machines (same filtered water that mixes with the lemonades, etc). You don't even have to buy anything, just ask for a cup of water, its been great! :thumbsup2

Brita pitchers are still available I use one at work.. You can get reuseable water bottles at any camping supply store.. Never tried the Britta water bottle. I use tap water for my coffee it's heated up enough to kill any microbes, please no replies from all you chemists out there, I use it all the time and have not gotten sick. If anything the chemicles used to purify it leaves a taste. And have not noticed a taste affecting my coffee. I do use bottled water for drinking I like it cold so I keep it in the fridge. For the parks I usually freeze a bottle or two and take one or two cold but not frozen. If you get water from a Disney store it's very expensive but from a grocery store it is probably cheaper than a Brita filter if you are still going to buy water at the parks. You will need a new filter every trip since you should not store one once it is used. JMO
