I know people fridge-swap, but can you bring your own toaster to use in the room?
We were thinking about buying a cheapie in Walmart etc and using it in the room, like we did with a kettle last year, but don't want to breach fire safety regs/ set off the smoke alarms.
TIA:goodvibes

On another board they were discussing this and someone called Disney and they stated that you are not allowed to bring in a toaster. If you're at a moderate or a value there will be a toaster in the food court for you to use.

That's what I suspected - thanks

Aha, see how cultured I am ;) ? I think we're going to ship a cheap coffee maker down and then leave it for Give the Kids a World.

My dh and I are coffee snobs and I've heard the coffee is not so good at DW. :sad2:

It's normally called a hot pot. It heats water only. I'm contemplating bringing mine.

Call the resort and ask yourself - or wait until you arrive (if you'll have a car) and ask when you are there. I've called and been told toasters are fine. Others have posted the same thing. Like everything else at Disney it's hard to get a straight answer consistantly

We had no problems bringing a toaster or electric kettle last year. We are doing the same this year!

We used to bring a cheap-o toaster with us to use in the room -- it saved us a lot of time (and $$$$) in the morning eating before hitting the parks. That was when we stayed at All Star Sports and (then) Dixie Landings. It worked out very well and mousekeeping never said anything about it. We always cleaned up the crumbs and unplugged it when leaving the room.

when staying at Pop we brought a coffee maker and a small fan. We had no problems with either. We shipped both Fed-Ex.

We've taken a toaster to POP before. Left in on the table, kept it unplugged when not in use. Nothing was said.

We've also brought a toaster on many of our WDW trips over the years. Never had a problem. We always unplugged it after using it.

Please don't. In the last three weeks, we've had three fires at work - two toaster ovens and one toaster.

Sorry but my last stay at the GF, they brought me a toaster with my room service order of bagels and toast....they do allow them!
