Do strollers ever get stolen? After going through several cheap strollers with baby #3 I finally bought a good one. Should I be afraid it will get stolen at WDW?? I could bring my old one but it is much heavier and harder to manuever.

We brought our "good" one and it was fine. We put our name on ours in fabric paint but honestly it wasnt a problem at all.

I personally don't think your stroller will be stolen. I will be bringing my good stroller when I go down in September and what I'll do is make a luggage tag with my kids picture and hang it on the stroller. I doubt that many people will have the same stroller, but just in case to make it stand out a little and I'll also have a recent picture in case God forbid the kids get lost. I know other moms in my yahoo group have taken their good strollers and haven't had any problems.

We took our good umbrella stroller and had no problems. We were worried at first and would bring our stroller on some of the rides. Then as time went by we got sick of bringing it with us and left it outside. Don't worry, I'm sure it will be fine.:)

We have taken our Peg Perego once to Disney World and twice to Disneyland with no problems. While it isnt' the nicest it's not the cheapest either. I think having a stroller stolen has and does happen but I think it's the exception and not the rule. We'll be taking ours again next month!

we've brought our Maclaren once and our Peg Perego Pliko P3 several times and never had a problem. Everytime I am a little nervous - but it always ends up being fine !

We never had strollers stolen. We just went to Adventure Island last weekend and had a new black bag containing 3 pairs of sandals, 3 passes, and aerosol sunscreen stolen. Thank goodness I forgot to bring the 3 towels. In fact, I almost hid my car transmitter in there so it wouldn't get wet. I hid the bag in the same bushes I always hid it in last summer. When we were ready to leave, someone had stolen the bag. I don't know what they saw in it, but apparently they needed it worse than we did. Unfortunately, it was almost $80 worth of stuff that had to be replaced. The funny thing is I refused to pay the $8 for a locker. hahahahahaha Oh well, the positive aspect is it gave us an opportunity to buy new sandals. Anyways, if someone is gonna steal your stroller, they are gonna steal it. There is nothing you can do except protect your investment. Bring a bike cable and loop it around a pole in stroller parking when you are on rides! haha =) Good luck!

We have been going to Disney for years with many different strollers and never had one taken or anything off of it taken. I always mark mine with a ribbon tied on the handle. I try and get some weird pattern so I will see it immediately. I think everything will be fine for you. Just remember that the CM's will frequently shift or move the strollers around and it may not be in the same place where you left it. We often leave our stroller in Fantasyland for long periods of time unattended. The rides are so close together that we park it and walk to everything and retrieve it when we are ready to head to another land.

We took our Maclaren - I was worried a bit the first day, but we had no problems. I think it's pretty rare to have them stolen in one of the parks, but it's more frequent at Downtown Disney.

I put address labels all over it, in unseen places, like underneath. I didn't lock mine, but I know some people put some type of lock where it can't be folded, but the CMs can still move it if need be.

Ours is a Maclaren too. Do you know more about what type of lock??

Disney does not allow you to lock your stroller to a pole. It must be moveable.

I've brought my Maclaren on 11 trips so far with no problems at all.

My advice is to personalize it with ribbons, bandanas, with stickers/labels. That way its easy to identify it and less likely to be stolen.

Perhaps a lock is a strong suggestion. It was more of a laugh. Do they sell stroller alarms? haha. Just kidding. The previous post of hiding identiying marks is genious. It comes down to this. There is risk in every aspect of life. All you can do is gather all of the facts, weigh the pros vs. cons, and trust your instincts. There is a 99.9% chance it will not get stolen. Will it make your stay, and your child's stay more enjoyable? Of course it will, so bring it. Then come back here and tell us all about the magic!!!!

We brought our fancy-shmancy :lmao: stroller (wouldn't leave home without it, and it's BRIGHT RED and easy to spot in "stroller parking") on a couple of trips and never had a problem. I had a nice big tag on it with my name and cell number, and "personalized" it with some stuff that we wouldn't die over if lost/stolen. Based on our and other's experiences, I really wouldn't worry about it. This next trip I'll have a bright green mickey head on a bright red stroller - say "hi" if you see us!! :rotfl2:

I've always loved the Unofficial Guide's recommendation of tying something unappealing to the handle of your stroller-like a cloth diaper with rootbeer poured on it in a see-through plastic bag :)

Yes, but that's so old; it's been around for years, and most people know about it here on the DIS and elsewhere so that kind of makes it not as effective as it once was.

Hmmm... I see a thread coming on about "how gross a thing can you create and leave on your stroller?" Who am I kidding... that's probably already out there, right?? :rotfl2: :rotfl:

I wasn't scared about leaving my stroller. I even our expensive camera in it a couple of times. It was never bothered except by CM's to make room.

We are buying a new Jeep Limited Urban stroller for this trip and I'm also worried about it being stolen. We were thinking about a smaller and cheaper Maclaren but I rathger have a bigger stoller where its more comfy for the baby to take a nap. How do you guys tag it? I wouldn't mind putting a big old plastic tag with our name on it like some of the parks used to do years ago with the rental strollers (not sure if they do this anymore). Have you guys ever done this? If yes, how?
