bringing your own float for CC

I know you can't have blow up toys in the pools, but can you take your own to CC or should we just count on having to rent one? (This is purely a fun question as American Eagle has flamingo pool floats and I think it would be fun to float around on a flamingo.)

thanks. I missed this when pursuing earlier. OK. No flamingo pool float. Just reserved one through the cruise site as well as a set of snorkels and goggles.

Funny how 'kites' are now banned. I remember when it was an activity on the ship to make a kite. My family did that and then took it on CC to fly, but it was hard to find a place to fly it. Maybe that is why they ended that family activity on the ship. It was a long time ago.

Kites are actually an environmental hazard. One kite can get away and the string can cause all kinds of danger to wildlife. And I'm betting in the early days they overlooked banning inflatables and pool noodles and ended up with a bunch of garbage from people who didn't want to take them home as they were cheap enough to abandon.

There is not enough room in these pools for people much less kid toys, haha...

I guess it isn't enforced at all then. We paid the crazy $10.75 to rent one but we saw at least 15 of non-DCL floats in the beach area (near pelican plunge) around us. There were so many that I thought the rule changed and was kicking myself for not bringing our own.

I noticed that the list states "inflatable floats" I was thinking about bringing the mesh type that twists and folds into a small circle so it would pack flat and doesn't weight very much at all. Has anyone seen these type being used at Castaway lately?

I would think that any personal floatables would not be allowed. They do include "noodles" which are not inflatables.

Yes, people bring their own, and do get away with using them. But I think it goes against the spirit of the ban.

I believe it has to do with, as Bruiserknits said "... I'm betting in the early days they overlooked banning inflatables and pool noodles and ended up with a bunch of garbage from people who didn't want to take them home as they were cheap enough to abandon."

I wish they did allow people to bring their own floats. I have a snorkel raft that my DD uses. She doesn't like wearing the mask and breathing through the snorkel, but she can lay on her belly on the raft and look through the window. She said she will try snorkeling with the gear on CC because she wants to see the character statues on the snorkel trail, but it would be nice to use the raft. But I will respect their rules.
