We have one of those neoprene 6-pack caddies. It is completely flat when empty and rolls up pretty small, too. We use it ALL the time on the beach here in summer, and it keeps things reasonably cold for several hours. (keeps beer cold enough to drink, at least)

Do ya'll think it would work well for bringing 3 cold and 3 frozen waters to the park in June? Has anyone actually tried this yet?

Thanks!

When we go to the parks in the summer I always bring frozen waters and it works great. I just slip them either in the bag I'm carrying or carry a few in the stroller. They keep cool for most of the day.

Not sure if this will help, but you can ask for ice water from the carts for free.
I saw someone post the info here and on our last 3 trips we no longer carry water.

I use the same strategy! If you dolike to carry a bottle, you can fill it with ice water from CS restaurants.

This is just me, but I'd never lug around multiple bottles - I travel as light as possible! Carrying six bottles of water would be too much - they'd be so heavy! (It would be different if you had a stroller with a storage compartment, tho.)

We don't have the ability to freeze water since we stay onsite. But what we did is clipped two water bottles to the strap of DD's Maclaren. We filled each with ice. Then DH put two cold water bottles (we have water delivered and have a room fridge) in the mesh pockets on his backpack. We pour the water over the ice throughout the day.

Have you ever thought about looking into a Camelbak or similar bag. Its a backpack with a special spot to hold a water bag there is a tube that comes around the front for drinking. The mouth of the bag is big enough to fit your hand in, easy to fill with ice. The camelback ones are a bit expensive but you can find cheeper alternatives.

First one is tiny can hold only a few things, second looks like a full size backpack. They are not as heavy as you would think they are, my first was a 2 liter small sized pack, enough for a day hike. I was shocked at how light it was, I had been hiking with that much in bottles in my pack and it seemed much heavier. I think it has to do with how it fits in the bag. I have a second thats 3liters.

One more thing, if you decide to get one don't buy it sight unseen. My big bag has an insulated area that holds the water reservoir, this is good keeps the condensation off the stuff in the pack. Plus the ice lasts longer. My smaller one unfortunately does not, I have to be careful with how i pack this one. Things can get a bit damp, not soaking mind you just a lil damp.

We just bought two for our upcoming trip. They had some at target for $30 that we prefered over the ones at walmart. They had more room than the small one, but not as much as a full backpack. The bags are light and comfortable and hold 2L each. We will refill with the free ice water throughout the day, but with 3 little kids I like the idea of having water on us at all times because they tend to sip a little at a time instead of drinking a whole cup. We had planned to carry a backpack for snacks, diapers, etc anyway so we don't consider this something additional to carry.

by the way... i just checked the target website and they do not have the one we bought online. i have seen them at 3 different target stores. it's an eddie bauer one and it's the only one they carry in-store.
