So I've read that we can bring on our own beer and soda. The question I have is can we walk around with a bottle of Coronoa or a can of coke on board? It's our first cruise and I don't know how they serve them on board.

firstcruiser,
I know they sell cans of coke so you will be fine there.
My thought on the Corona....they let you bring it on board did they think you were going to just look at it all day? (I know you were thinking JUST in your cabin) The only place they would not let you take bottles on our other cruises was in the pool area.
I have heard people bring plastic cups maybe this is why?
Between you and me.....I like drinking my Corona out of the bottle w/the lime jammed in. It loses something in a plastic cup.
But so do my Cosmopolitans, looks like a big bar tab for me!-laurie

I took some beer on board last year (both bottles and cans). I walked around with them from time to time and never got a second glance. I had also purchased the beer mug on board, so I usually dumped my bottled beer in there. Just stay out of the pool area with bottles and you should be cool!

We walked around with our cans we brought on board with us. No problem.:)

a can if you dont want to bring glass. We brought 2 cases onboard on the 8/31 Magic and no one said a word to us. The porter even carried the cooler onboard for us.

I found the Corona cans at the liquor store down the street from the Radisson . Its about 1 mile down on the left.

DH is reading over my shoulder and wondering if the beer mug is glass or plastic? I'm guessing it has some sort of DCL logo?

T'anks!

Great posts!

My DH will be glad to hear that he can bring his own beer. He's a certified "Beer Snob" and only drinks one that they offer on board.
Now, I just need to find some Gunniess between the MCO and port.

Immediately when I got on NCL in Dec I bought a drink with their glass. When I went back to our cabin I would make a new drink and keep it in their glass. However, after 4 nights I ended up with 4 different glasses. Hey, I was collecting different styles and colors - lol

The beer mug is glass. It is 20 oz. instead of 12 oz., so you get 20 for the price of 12 if you buy it. It does have the DCL logo on it, and they usually put the year as well.

ENJOY!!!

Were you able to put the lime in the Corona can? Does it fit?

How does it taste from the can?

Thanks!

friends did bring lime and put it in the beer. I didnt hear complaints from any of them so I assume it tasted pretty good. My hubby packed a pocket knife in his checked luggage and just kept the cut up limes in our cooler (which our stateroom host Dillan kept filled with ice every day)

My DH is a CoorsLight man, and I like the Bacardi Silver's and the Mikes HardLemonade! I am probably going to stop on the way to the port and pick up some of these as I am sure they probably do not carry them onbaord. The Bacardi Silvers are great with a splash of Chamborah in them. Oh I cannot wait!!!;)

Thanks Beano. DH was just wondering if he'd find the mug worth it - but is reading over my shoulder again and decided it would make a great souvenier in any case!

Deb:

It does make a great souvenier! I keep mine in my freezer and every once in a while I'll have a cold one in it!

They cost around 12 bucks I think, and that includes the first beer. Then it's the same price to refill it as it would cost for a regular beer, but as I said you get 20 oz. rather than 12.
We sail in less than a month. I just may have to buy another one!

ENJOY!!!
