do you do it? is it allowed? i've brought water and that was ok. and baby food when DSs were little & required baby food. but what about regular food/munchies? i'm thinking packing some sandwiches, fruits, etc. i was just thinking it would be a lot less hassle to get in line to buy food, find a place to sit at, etc. not to mention saving myself some $$ along the way! what do you think? :flower:

We have brought in lunch and snacks numerous times.

The only time I was hassled for bringing in anything was my Starbucks Mocha Frappacino which was in a glass bottle. We chugged it at the check in point but everything else was cool, including chips, trail mix, apples, etc.

so i could totally bring a little cooler (collapsable) filled lunch/munchies...and they'll let me thru the security gate/check point? just nothing w/glass...wasn't planning on that anyways. good to know! thanx! :flower:

You can bring a collapsible cooler. I would say anything you could fit into a locker and come back to. We had a stroller and just kept it with us, but we could have fit ours in a locker.

it's just a little insulated lunch box that i could fold up flat & put away in my backpack once the contents are all eaten up! :flower:

The only time I saw someone turned away was when he was trying to bring in sandwich stuff.. A loaf of bread and lunchmeats.. The sandwiches had to be put together in order to get in..

We take a colapsable cooler in all the time. Larger coolers that would hold a 12 pack of soda are not alowed in. They have to be put in a locker.

Heh, i've heard of some of the most creative ways people sneak in food. From a baby wipes box, to a first aid kit. :lmao: A couple weeks ago I was at another theme park and I saw a family with chinese food in the white take out boxes. Nowhere in that entire park served chinese food. hahaha

We always take food in. I do have small children but have never been questioned about us bringing in a small insulated lunch box. We also bring in 4-5 water bottles and they have never said anything.

We brought in water bottles and snacks (fruit, crackers, cookies, etc.) I put the water bottles in the basket at the bottom of our stroller in plain sight, and the food in our backpack, which did get searched. Never a problem.

The only time I've heard of them having a problem is (as someone already stated) a glass container, which is not allowed in the park, probably for safety reasons; and rolling coolers or something large enough that people could trip over it. Oh, and alcohol, of course.

I brought in a small bag of (washed) baby carrots still in its original supermarket bag and nobody official batted an eye. However, the lady sitting in front of me while waiting for Fantasmic did ask loudly "All right, who's eating pickles?".

Disney's offical policy is that no outside food other than that needed for dietary restrictions is allowed in the parks. However they do let you take in food. If they see you bring in a big cooler (either one of the bigger soft sided with wheels, or a regular cooler) they will tell you to store it in the lockers at the picnic tables. Small bag type coolers (even the softsided lunch type ones) they usually let go through.

We were a group of 13 and food at Disneyland can get quite pricey... so we opted to make a lot of sandwiches and some tiny snack items like trail mix and granola bars. We had everything in a backpack (which they checked and didn't say anything) and stored it in the lockers until we were ready to eat. It was more convienient than spending at least $15.00 per person on lunch.

I am also thinking of the time issue...my son eats nonstop at home until about 1pm...it will cut into our fun if we have to stop to all the time to line up for food. We are not renting a car, is there a store nearby that I can walk to or take a taxi to to pick up some granola bars etc? We are staying at the Fairfield Inn if that helps!

We usually bring in snacks like pretzels or granola bars. DS3 hardly eats so that satisfies him throughout the day and then we have him pick off our food at meals. He never eats more than 3 bites of a kids meal in the park so we stopped buying them for him until he eats more.

We always bring water bottles in. DH loaded down the bottom of the stroller with 37 water bottles one day. :rotfl: The guy at the security booth looked at the stroller and said "you know we do have water inside too" I was so embarrassed. It was pretty funny though. We have never had any problem bringing stuff in. I usually dont bring stuff for meals because we all love the food there!

We usually bring in our own water bottles and some sandwiches for lunch and have never had a problem. We save $ and more importantly, time, since we don't have to wait in line for lunch. We usually eat dinner in the park and the money we save on lunch goes to buy all the yummy snack stuff....that's the best!!
