I think we will have more fun if we just work together and get this organized. My main thing is having lanyards. Activities aren't as important,as I did only few of those on the EB. We know why we are a weak group, so let's get past that and at least get to know each other and get a way to identify each other on the boat.

we need someone to order them.
we need someone to design them.
we have to agree what they will say....so far people seem to like:

We need to find a group to pay for them, sponser them, first. I can help, but my husband was laid off yesterday, so I won't be able to do it all. We could steal EB design, change the dates and put Bringing home the Magic. At this late date, that is the easiest, unless someone is enthusiastic.

To save money, small kids don't need them. Maybe 8 and older should have them?

Aw, that's disappointing. I really wanted to do a brunch with you gals. But since it's only 1 per person, I'll stick with my original plan. Especially since you seem to have a full list already.

I just got off the phone w/DCL rep regarding our request. This is the first time I've attempted this - so its a learniing experience.

1st: they do Not provide the private room for Afternoon Tea - what she suggested was that on embarkation day - a couple of us go to Palo's and see if we can get ressies for 2 adjacent tables on whichever day we want.

2nd: Only 1 Brunch per person per cruise - thus I cannot request a 2nd brunch day - The latest count is 12 for brunch (and 12 is the mnimum to reserve the room/ 14 maX) - so I can add only 2 more for 8/25

3rd: There is no guarantee that our request will be approved - they review all requests 30 days out and then will notify me.

If - more want to join - once the # reaches 12 - another fax can be sent to Inv. Control w/the names of those wanting ressies and the date reuested.

Whew!!!! I hope that makes sense to you all!!

Okay - will those of you who wanted to have brunch PM me - I need to fax in your full names to DCL.

Yeah Linda, that's what the DCL rep told me - if a name appears on more than one brunch ressie - they're removed from one.
Since the train from Paris arrives in Barcelona early - I'll get to Palo's as soon as I board - I'll see if maybe my buddy Monica would go w/me and see what we can arrange for Tea. I am so stubborn - somehow I will make this work for us - my goal on this cruise is to have fun!!!!

I am trying to find me a good price on airfare right now...any suggestions? I will be leaving from New Orleans more than likely. I am scared to death about going solo from New Orleans to Barcelona.. ..but I will survive!!

I cant wait to meet all of you.

Not for lack of trying. We seem to have lost so many of the original driving force on this thread.

Right now we are working on:

Ladies Tea and or brunch

Social for 10-12 year old girls

Lanyards or wrist bands. Look like the masses are leaning toward lanyards.

A meet...to be determined.

A group gathering to do the fountains in Barcelona on Saturday night.

Yes, I'd definitely like to do the meet at the fountains on Saturday night, the 18th -- what time were we planning to meet there?

I have a disadvantage of a) never seeing one so not knowing what others are expectng and b)being very unartistic. So if you can work on a modifying the design that would be great (or steal from others - at my work we prefer to call it leveraging!!) Sorry to hear about your husband being layed off!!

I did 4 Palo's on my last cruise. All we did was each book a table and we did not provide names for the ressie. I am uncertain as to why they are asking for this now and I wonder if this is something new.
