Bringing food on plane?

Our plane to MCO leaves at 5:30 pm. We are working/school that day, so it's going to be tight getting there and we won't have time for dinner or possibly even grabbing something at the airport.

Can we bring sandwiches and chips or something like that from home to eat on the plane? Will we get through security? I know we can't bring drinks, so I'm hoping we'll have time to grab something out of the vending machine before the plane leaves.

TIA!

You can bring food as long as none of it is considered a liquid (doesn't hold it's own shape). No separate mayo, pudding, salad dressings, etc unless they are part of your 3-1-1 bag. You can definitely bring chips, sandwiches, etc.

Travel Tips: 3-1-1 liquids rule. You are allowed to bring a quart-sized bag of liquids, aerosols, gels, creams and pastes through the checkpoint. These are limited to 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) or less per item. This is also known as the 3-1-1 liquids rule.

Thanks a lot! A co-worker said we couldn't bring that on the plane, but I hadn't seen it on the TSA list, so I wanted to make sure since it's been 4 years since we've been on a plane!

Don't worry, no smelly foods here! I won't be bringing any PB&J, either. Don't want to kill anyone with nut allergies! :)

Definitely take food. I plan to have breakfast on my flight to MCO since it leaves at around 6:30 am. I am not big on having fast food breakfast that early in the morning so I plan to basically pack fruits and veggies along meats and cheeses and probably a baguette or croissant. I hope to have time to grab some water or juice, but might just order that on the plane.

We bring food on the flights every single time. Just be aware of the types of things that are liquids, PB in a container, yogurt, etc.

As far as drinks, we always bring our empty water bottles and fill them at the airport after we go through security.

I bring my own refillable cup and use that for drinks on the plane. Just flew SW this month and was able to get a can of Diet Coke and a cup of ice. :) This way I don't have to worry about spills. If I have time I will get a soda at one of the airport locations and use my cup for that as well. We always bring food on the plane. Sandwiches, chips, cookies, etc. No problem (and no onions either!)

Good luck catching that flight it you feel you wont have time to even stop to buy a drink. Hopefully the ticket counter and security lines won't be too long for you.

A tip some people might like. I like ice water. I get a plastic water bottle, freeze the water so it's about 3/4 full then add some water so I have some on the way to the airport. Then right before I go through security, I drink the rest so the bottle is totally empty and only the solid ice is left. Then when I get through security I can fill it up again and have my ice water. Having the block of water lasts in the car on the way to WDW. No problem last two times I did it. They picked it up and looked, but no issue.
