I just wanted to be sure this was still permitted. I'm just talking about a few protein bars and snacks in a backpack.

Go right ahead.
Only restriction is: no glass containers.

Yes it is. We bring in a small soft cooler.

Just to note - hard sided coolers are not allowed and then let the portals be opened for those who want to say they have seen hard sided coolers in the parks :)

It's not "hard sided" coolers that are prohibited. (They're allowed.)
It's ROLLING coolers (push or pull, on wheels) that are restricted.

• Alcoholic beverages

• Weapons of any kind

• Folding chairs

out of spending 20 or so days at disney in the last 6 months I have only had 3 meals in the parks all other meals and snacks I have brought in with me. so go for it bring all the food you would like some CM have a problem with you bringing in an apple but just tell them you will keep it away from snow white ;)

Last trip, I saw a family with a medium size hard rolling cooler. Disney sometimes gets lax in their enforcement of rules. However, I wouldn't chance it. Bring a soft sided cooler that's just big enough to fit what you need. You don't want anything that is cumbersome.

I stand corrected.

What do you do with your coolers when you go on rides/attractions? I'm sure some rides would not be an issue but wouldn't think you would be able to take them on say Space Mountain.

I have never taken a cooler, just a snack bag in a backpack. But maybe people put them in lockers or in their stroller?

We carry an Igloo MaxCold cooler backpack, and it goes on all rides with us.

We don't bring in a cooler but we always bring in snacks and water with us. Makes it easy when standing in line and the kids get hungry or thirsty. We carry backpacks or the small cinch sacks, and now our oldest (12) carries one as well. We've never has a problem bringing anything in.
