I read somewhere that you can't bring drinks into Aquatica and it got me wondering if 1) this is true and 2) if it applies to Seaworld, Universal Studios and Island of Adventure. We ordered tons of drinks from Garden Grocer and don't want to have to throw them out when we get to the park (as they made us do at Six Flags a couple of years ago).

As long as they are unopened and in plastic containers you should have no issues.

We often brought in water bottles with no problem. I'm sure we brought in reusable bottles with some water in them and they never said anything. I'm only sure about WDW, I'm sure others in the forums will have a better idea about the rest of the parks.

We took bottled water into Universal today with no problems. There were people taking coolers in so there mustnt be an issue.

So if we've taken a swig or 2 on the way to the park they'll make us dump 'em?

I've taken open drinks in the morning/early afternoon and have never had a problem. In the evening hours they're more strict.

Your mileage may very.

Check on the websites for specifics.

Many people had coolers at Aquatica. It should say on their website what the size allowed is (I read the signs, but don't remember - our "cooler" was a soft lunch bag style that we kept waters in). They do not allow sandwiches and family size items (huge bags or chips, 2 liter bottle of soda, etc.). You are supposed to go outside the park to have a "picnic." That said, I did not see them removing any items during bag check and saw plenty of people eating home (or hotel) made sanwiches with their big bags of chips . We had a can of pringles one day and they let that in without batting an eye. We had lots of water bottles.

I also saw some rolling collers (kind of like backpacks) at SW.
