Bringing bottled water into the park

How does one go about this? Does each person just carry a bottle? Do they allow small soft sided coolers for this sort of thing? I was just reading the post about people having snack credits left over by taking their own water into the park, and I can see taking one bottle in with you, but no way is that going to last all day... What is the secret here...?? :) :wave2:

For my family of four, we carried 2-24oz bottles in each day (we had gotten them as the 'drink' on our breakfast trays in the morning under the dining plan; used our free refill mugs for the drink we had with the meal).

Security checked the bags, but never questioned us at all about the water. It was 'purchased' at Disney, but I don't even think that mattered. Once, I think we even walked in carrying bottles in our hands as we were hopping from Epcot.

The 2 bottles were not enough for the full day, so we'd use snack credits on the dining plan to get more. I never forked over real $$ to get water at all the whole week.

The carts sell these great straps (kinda like a lanyard) that hold the water bottles. We bought a couple & they worked out great.

The major parks allow small soft-sided coolers. The water parks anything goes as far as coolers are concerned.

The only restrictions are no alcoholic beverages at any park and absolutely nothing in glass containers at the water parks.

We carry bottles of water in with us all the time, one each in our hand and sometimes an extra in the back pack.

You are not allowed to bring coolers into the parks, yes the water will get warm, that doesn't bother me. Some people freeze it the night before to keep it cold, I don't like the condensation getting everything in backpack wet.

For the two of us, we take one bottle of water and then fill it up during the day at the water fountains. We carry it in our bag in a large Ziploc in case it leaks.

We carry in bottles of water all the time... never had a problem. I just put mine in my backpack. I once refilled it at a water fountain .. and found that water to taste nasty.

Another poster said they just walked up to one of those counters where they sell drinks and ask for ice water refill and the cm's are happy to accommodate you, plus you don't have to use fountain water you might not like the taste of.

This is what we are planning to do.

last year, and the water was NASTY!!!
Never again! I would rather just shell out the cash!

We just got back yesterday, @ MK we each (except me) had our own personal water cannisters which I filled primarily with ice from the hotel. Which lasted us until we went back to the room for an afternoon break. (I believe they were each 1 liter bottles) We had lunch there so we had drinks from that and with some ice from the counter and a little water from the fountain in Cosmic Ray's we were good to go.

Just returned from WDW. We picked up a neat little insulated back pack at Target prior to the trip, similar to the draw string back packs the kids have. We had groceries delivered (stayed DVC) and had purchased 3 cases of Publix brand water for $5 each. In the morning I filled this bag with frozen waters (it held about 6). In addition each of us had our own insulated water bottle holders that we picked up on our last trip. When we got to the parks security was not an issue. We rented a locker and placed the back pack and anything else we didn't want to carry all day in it. Troughout the day if we found ourselves near the lockers with an empty water bottle we just stopped and picked up a fresh one. For less than what we would have payed for a days worth of water for the 4 of us, we had cold water for the entire week!

We use a Brita water bottle and fill it with ice from the hotel in the morning and then at a water fountain in the park. Then, at lunch, we'd get a cup of ice to put in the bottle and refill as necessary w/ ice & water.

We each went in with 4 frozen bottles in insulated carriers. I also had a few other frozen water bottles in the stroller. My diaper bag also had snacks in it- like pretzels cheerios. We were never questioned.

The last few times there we would buy a case of bottled water, throw about 4 or 5 in the freezer the night before and then put them in the bottom of our stroller before leaving for the parks. Of course, if you don't have a stroller, this wouldn't do you any good.

Back when we had strollers, we used a soft sided insulated case to keep water cold.

Now, we each bring in one bottle, and get ice water from any of the counter restaurants to refill. I don't care for the water in the faucets, and this has never been a problem.

I used DS's insulated lunch box (left over from Kindergarten) I packed it with a few bottles of water and a freezer bag. I also put the package of babywipes in there (kept them nice and cool). They opened it at bag check but didn't say anything.

I used to slide a half liter water bottle in the sunglass pocket of my backpack. I bought a carabiner with a sturdy rubber o-ring attached for disposable water bottles at REI recently, and I'm using that instead during this trip.

I called WDW yesterday and asked if you can take a small cooler in with you and they said you could-no problem. I'm going to take Gatorade and bottled water everyday.

We take 5 frozen Propel waters (DDs won't drink any other kind). We put them in a ziploc freezer bag and either in my backpack or just on the bottom of them stroller. No one has ever said anything to us before. They last about 1/2 a day.

I brought a big insulated bag and put ice and water bottles in them and would take out bottles to carry in my small backpack.
