So we are leaving for WDW in a couple weeks and our DS (soon to be 11 months) decides to pick now to not want to be in the stroller for any length of time, but prefers to be hand-carried around whenever we're out.

We have found a few tricks to keep him in the stroller AND happy, but would welcome any suggestions or tips on what has worked for you.

We're hoping that he will be so overwhelmed with the many things to look at that he'll just be in awe all day long and sit still take it all in, but we're worried. It will be some long days if we are stuck carrying the little fella around all day.

Any ideas??

The stroller will at least be handy for hanging the diaper bag on. And he's bound to fall asleep sometime so you can put him in.

You might try forcing the issue a bit before your trip. Take him to the mall and make him stay in the stroller. Or even do it around the house or yard for short periods. He may fuss, but he'll probably get over it. I went through that with carseats with a couple of mine. After they realize you're not giving in, they resign themselves.

I would make sure there isn't something about the stroller that's bothering him first. It might be an itchy cover or some other annoyance.

Hope it works out for you.

I don't think you will have any trouble at WDW! He will have so much to look at even while riding in the stroller that this may distract him. Be sure and allow as many times during each day to let him run and play when it is safe. All the parks have great areas for this, some with fountains so beware!! I would also save a few favorite snacks or a sippy cup he can only have while in the stroller. My dd's loved the spinny light up things they sell everywhere - perhaps he can only have this while sitting etc.

Like the other poster mentioned, make sure he is comfortable in the stroller and maybe get a fan if your going during the hotter months. Right Start sells one that can safely attach to the stroller, we loved ours!

Have a great trip!
