Oh my gosh, I just noticed your countdown. Looks like we'll both be at WDW in July. :yay: We are staying at the Contemporary from the 19-24 and then the 24-31 at OKW.

I noticed that last night, but was too tired to say anything! :lmao: We'll be at BLT for the confirmed dates, and may add a few more days at... uh... that other Orlando-area theme park to see the new Harry Potter stuff.

:welcome: There may have been a point at the airport where I was near tears (that happens to me when I get :headache: ), but as soon as they got us on to the 2:30 flight, I was fine. Ironically, the 2:30 flight was the one I'd booked originally, before they moved us to the 10:40am one... and I'd never updated ME, so our vouchers ended up being exactly right! :rotfl:

We actually waitlisted BCV for this trip, and luckily, the waitlist came through for us. We discovered that fact when our ME tags showed up and were for BCV rather than SSR! :lmao:

Wow!!! What a great surprise!!!!

I just caught up on your pictures - nice room view!:thumbsup2

I know I promised an update, but I sadly got  on Thursday while at work. I ended up having to leave early, and I still haven't eaten anything substantial since Wednesday's dinner. On top of that, we had new furniture (that we purchased back in January) being delivered today, so we've had a lot to accomplish around the house in spite of my . I'm going to try to get the next update done this afternoon, though... all the pictures are in photobucket & organized, just waiting to be posted. ;)

On no Michelle! So sorry you are feeling under the weather...
I hope John is taking good care of you.
Feel better soon!
:goodvibes

I interrupt this TR to bring you photos of our new furniture that was FINALLY delivered today. I say finally because we purchased it back in January, but it was back-ordered. :headache: It showed up at 7:30 this morning, and while it's a bit larger than we realized (mostly because I thought the sectional pieces attached differently), we are very happy with it.

First up, the sectional sofa with "cocktail" ottoman, being modeled by our lovely kitten, Socks:

Next up, the swivel chair that I absolutely  and have barely moved from all day:

Finally, the TV stand (and free TV that we got for buying the living room set... although the TV was delivered in time for the Super Bowl)... with our other kitten Tiger in the foreground:

We also went out today & bought the fabric storage drawers that are under the TV stand in the picture. It gives us a perfect place to store Wii controllers & games, DVDs, etc, and helps hide the wires & surge protector. Even better, they match the furniture & the carpet, so they're not too noticeable. :thumbsup2

I'll try to get a trip update up later tonight. :)

We were at Slumberland today buying a mattress and boxsprings for my mom and I saw your set or something very close to it. I thought it was gorgeous!
Marc told me no furniture for me today.
Ha! I placed a small order ...

Uh oh, what did you buy?

Not much actually, it was just funny because he said "we aren't buying furniture" when we walked in....
He was the one who placed the order and was the one that said "we'll take it":lmao:

We have a large leather sectional and haven't been happy with the coffee table for a long time. I've been wanting a large ottoman to go in front of it.
Just the right balance of upholstery and a touch of leather and nail heads to go with what we have...
We've been looking for months.
Just happened to find it today.
So "we aren't buying furniture" famous last words.:rotfl2:

There's nothing quite like the alarm clock ringing when you're on vacation (especially when the time has lovingly "sprung forward" the night before!). For a split second, you almost wonder if you're still at home, if you have to get up to go to work. And then you realize... you're at DISNEY, and you're trying to make rope drop at the Magic Kingdom!

The park opened at 9:00, and the alarm was set for 7:30 or so. I use my cell phone as an alarm on vacation, so when I got up to silence the alarm, I noticed that I'd missed a text message the night before..... from..... wigd! She'd texted me the night before to see where we were, after she & shocker had gotten checked in at Pop. Of course, I was already sleeping when the text came in...

DH & I got up and got ready, and as we headed out to the busses, I texted wigd back to see where they were headed that morning... we were planning a DIS meet at some point. She replied, but I'm not going to tell you yet where she was headed... suffice to say, it wasn't MK with us.

The bus came quickly, and soon we were walking through the turnstiles at MK! We arrived in plenty of time for rope drop, but since I'm impatient and crowded the rope :rotfl:, we couldn't see much of the opening ceremony. I did manage to capture a bit of it, though:

The rope dropped right at 9, and we headed in to MK. We saw a photopass photographer and jumped up for a picture, only to feel silly when she said she was waiting on a character to come out. She didn't say who, but we decided to wait anyway - after all, we were first in line! ;) We didn't wait long, and soon.... DAISY DUCK appeared! So we took some photos with her (you'll have to wait until we get our photopass CD to see the picture), and then headed in towards the park. Ahh... what a beautiful sight!

P3140015.jpg

My goal for this day was to make rope drop in Mickey's ToonTown Fair as well, since it may not be around much longer, and if you miss rope drop, the crowds get crazy fast. So we meandered around the park to pass the time - we didn't, however, go FP Space Mountain at this point. I know we headed to the left of the hub, towards Adventureland, but it doesn't seem that we rode anything right off the bat... we saw this unique trash can along the way...

P3140016.jpg

Adventureland and Frontierland were completely deserted that early in the morning...

P3140025.jpg

I think we grabbed FP's for Splash Mountain since it was so chilly out, and then hopped on the train, thinking we'd get off at Toon Town. Unfortunately, the train doesn't stop at the Toon Town station until after 10am, so we rode all the way back to the front of the park, and headed out again. :rotfl:

Hey look, another castle shot!

P3140029.jpg

By this time, it was about 9:45, so we headed over to the back entrance to Toon Town, near the train station & right by Mickey's house. We were literally the ONLY people waiting in that spot for Toon Town's rope drop, and we waited maybe 10 minutes. Soon, the Big Cheese himself came out to greet the madness of children that would soon be rushing towards him, and the rope dropped. We followed the small crowd through Mickey's house (most of those rope drop people were headed to the fairies & princesses, btw), taking our time to admire some of the neat details.

It was about this time that I realized our camera battery was low. In fairness, I don't think it had been charged since before our December trip :sad2:, but we'd later learn that the battery actually just doesn't hold a charge well anymore. Oh well, that's what photopass is for, right? :lmao:

We made our way into the Judge's Tent, and enjoyed the classic Disney cartoons until it was our turn to meet the Big Cheese and his leading lady. Again, pictures will have to wait until our photopass CD arrives.

Then, we headed into Minnie's house. We'd never done Minnie's house before because of the crowds, so we were excited to see the differences between her house and Mickey's.

P3140041.jpg

From Toon Town, we wandered back around to Frontierland. At 10:45 or so, we hopped in line for BTMRR, which had a 30 minute wait posted. It was actually a 5 minute wait... and would have been shorter if they hadn't had the entire line open inside... it just takes forever to walk through all of that! Then, we decided to go do something we'd never done... Tom Sawyer Island!

P3140044.jpg

It was cute, but it's not something we'll likely go back to, until we have small children of our own.

After our exploration, we decided we were hungry, so we headed to Pecos Bill's for lunch. We used the self-service ordering system, which was :thumbsup2, and both had

P3140045.jpg

Lunch was good, and we'd definitely eat here again... but next time, we'd split one burger! It was way too much food, and we felt uncomfortably stuffed for quite a while afterwards.

Since we were still in the Frontierland area, we decided to go ahead and use our Splash Mountain FPs.

P3140026.jpg

We never get wet on Splash Mountain... until today! :rotfl:

We began to make our way back to the front of the park, heading back through Adventureland. The line for Jungle Cruise was posted at 30 minutes, so we got in line... the actual wait was less than 15! This was a theme throughout the trip for us, 30-minute posted waits were always shorter, if we waited in the line. We enjoyed our cruise, but our skipper wasn't the best we've ever had on that journey.

After Jungle Cruise, we grabbed some dole whips, and then walked around for a while to eat them. We hit up several photopass photographers along the way, but you'll still just have to trust me on that (!), and then headed to the front of the park. It was still early, right around 1:00.

Up next: Where do we go from here? Will we manage to meet up with wigd and shocker? And what "once-in-a-lifetime" thing do we experience at our next location???

Famous last words, indeed! :rotfl:

I'm glad you got to do toon town rope drop - we have never done that before and it is always so busy so I don't feel like we get to see everything. Maybe I will plan to make a rope drop in May when we go. I'm thinking it will still be there then...
