Bring back the old Matterhorn bobsleds!!

My back is still thrashed following a ride on the Matterhorn on dapper day. The new cars are truly awful. I could not get off my spine, and I think I need to see a chiropractor.

Just some advice for those with leg room issue...

Put your feet up as high as possible in the foot holes, there is more room in there than I thought. Much better now!

I actually tried this. I was wearing running shoes (size 11, wide) and had just run the Dumbo Double Dare that weekend. So I wasn't all that flexible, but got my legs WAY up into the foot slots.

Getting out was the problem. My shoes got wedged into the openings. I guess my feet are too fat! I had to yank out my legs, leaving the shoes behind, and a CM went diving for them in the leg openings while I stood there completely embarrassed.

Oh, and the ride is WAY too bumpy. Maybe a cushion thicker than a newspaper on the seat would have helped a little.

I would love just a different seat that's easier to climb in and out of! One of my friends who is a DLR regular can't even go on it anymore because of her bad knee. The way the cars are set up its impossible for her to climb in and out of the car. Heck I have a perfectly good set of legs and I still have problems getting in and out of the new cars.

I can understand why they needed to change it. But these don't seem to have been the best choice either.

I feel your pain (literally) The new cars are horrendous on the back and tailbone. It's hard to enjoy a ride through pain. Too bad; I've been riding this attraction for decades and never had issues before the new cars.

Will never ride again. Just exited 20 mins ago, hurt my knee getting in and out. My just a tad under 7-yr old but tall enough to be 10 is on her 5th single rider jaunt. Maybe her center of gravity is much better equipped for it. To be blunt, a super-compression sports bra would have helped a smidge, but the knees can't do it anymore!! Just standing at the entrance now hearing all the adults complain how small and difficult to exit the bobsleds and the kids exclaim how wonderful it was!!

Another note of advice, front xar and front seats are much smoother than the back.

What i dislike most is the fact I can't hold on to the little ones. I might be considered over protective but I like being able to hold onto them instead of them being on their own. And it is a lot more jerky and the kids are not liking it and have said they will never go on it again. Sadly I'm okay with that seeing as I don't think they are the safest anymore. And that used to be one of my favorites.

It just dawned on me that I was always the front rider in the old cars, never the back person - so my memories are that of being cushioned on it! Still won't ride it again, though - part of the fun of the 2-rider cars was being able to experience the ride with my kids for the first time. The few times I rode with my kids, i was so worried about them flying out that i ignored the discomfort of the ride ... Until now ;-)

Last week I rode the Tomorrowland side in the last seat and the Fantasyland side in the front seat. They were both rough but I felt the hand grips were awkwardly placed in the front seat which made it harder to brace myself around the turns.

Our 6 year old rode this about 10 times this last trip, hands up on her own with us in the seats in front or behind her and loved it. I guess it is different for everyone. This ride is totally safe and easy on the kids, just a little rough on the adults. Personally, sitting in the front was easier than sitting in the back. It has always been a bit of rough ride, old sleds and new alike.
