Even though I love Epcot's World Showcase, I sometimes think it gives a limited view of the many countries and cultures around the world. Looking back at my journal, photos and park guides from our 2000 trip to WDW and have been thinking what a great idea the Millennium Village was. Although it was small and compact, it did give you a chance to meet people from many more countries, try things out, marvel at some fantastic craftsmanship, etc.

I think Disney should bring it back. What do you think? :)

My DS loved MV. He usually doesn't like to spend much time at Epcot, but that year he kept requesting to go back every time we had some "free time".

They should have never got rid of Millenium Village! It was fantastic. I loved how interactive it was. To me, they should have used that as a model in adding to the WS experience all the way around. I love Epcot, it's my favorite WDW park. MV was a really great addition. My son was 11 & 12 on our trips down that included MV. I couldn't get him out of there.

My & my DH's favorite thing was participating in the Eritrean Coffee Ritual. My sons was a tie between Brazillian soccer & the (I think Isreali) Magic Carpet Game. The Scandanavian Eggs were pretty cool (literally) too.

We really liked it too and were sad to see it leave.

I agree! We LOVED MV and spent lots of time there. Our girls (10 & 6 at the time) loved having their passports signed by all those people from different countries. We ate, bought souvenirs, did the interactive stuff. They could even showcase different countries from time to time. If the building is still there then why not bring it back!

I guess I'm in the minority here. And maybe we just didn't give it a better chance, but nothing seemed to hold us in MV. Please keep in mind that we aren't big interaction people (we absolutely hated DisneyQuest!).

All I remember is DH talking in access to the girls from Sweden . . .

It was fantastic - my kids had so much fun there, playing football in Brazil, having their names written in Arabic and collecting a stamp from each country in their 'passport'. It's a real pity they did away with it :confused3

I thought it was great also, wish they would have something similar again, or atl east an expansion of the countries that are there is WS.

I agree. The activities related to each country helped get a better understanding about the way of life there - albeit a bit trivial at times. The existing WS countries could do more of this kind of thing, but better still....

Bring Millennium Village back!

I agree! I loved the MV. I would also love to see them add another country or 2 to the WS. But then again, EPCOT is my favorite park. :cool1:

I agree! They should definitely bring back the MV! I especially loved the movie and souvenirs to purchase from other countries not offered in the WS.

I loved it too, I also really like the parade that year. I think it was called tapestry of nations or something like that.

Yes, Tapestry of Nations. The music still gives me goosebumps. That was the best celebration I ever experienced at WDW. I wish I had gone more often during it. :(

We never had the opportunity to experience MV, but I agree it would be great to see another country or 2 added to WS. I know I will never get the chance to visit another country for real, and WS is the next best thing. Epcot is my favorite park as well!
