Bring Back Handwiches!

Anyone remember those? I think it's been about 14 years since I had one of those handwiches! It was at the Sleepy Hollow restaurant in MK. I think they had a chicken salad handwich and maybe one or two other kinds. They were great and were "Disney".

I remember them! Loved them esp. when DS was a toddler - it was perfect to share with him.

We LOVED the vegetarian Handwich! Got it at Tomorrowland and have missed it ever since...

*sniff* *sniff*......your post brought back memories. Oh how I wish for handwiches, Tangaroa Terrace, The Empress Room, Chef Mickey's in Down town Disney, and the Odyssey.


Now I must go compose myself...I am bereft.

Gosh I miss them. Disney had so many great treats and restaurants in the early 90s.

Handwiches were like a hollowed out piece of bread stuffed with fillings (bbq chicken, vegetarian, etc...) You held them in your hand like an ice cream cone. Very portable.

I loved the brownie with ice cream and sauce etc. at Sleeppy Hollow now all they have are funnel cakes and popcorn. I was so disappointed last week.

I was just thinking about those handwiches the other day. The chicken salad ones were the best. There was so much filling you had to use a fork. I remember getting them at Sleepy Hollow. I wish they would bring back the bread bowls at Columbia Harbor House. The vegetarian chilli just isn't the same in a plastic bowl!

Wow! I just remembered those. What about the little plastic bunches of grapes filled with (not surprisingly) grape juice? I LOVED those. My mom used to bring them back home with us because I wouldn't consider drinking grape juice without them.

I LOVED Handwiches!!!! We used to get ours at the food court in The Land pavillion, and my favorite was the roast beef w/ cheese. Those were the best, and I was so disappointed when we returned to WDW in 2003 after 10 years to see they were gone. Now I just have to console myself with lots of Nestle Toll House ice cream cookie sandwiches.

The thing I didn't like about the handwiches was that the cheese was put on after the roast beef and always seemed to stay on the top. By the time you got half-way down the handwich it was just a roast beef sandwich.
