I know, there is a reviews board, but I thought I'd post here first. We went to the World in August for 9 nights and tried a couple of new dining choices along the way. We did a 1-night Platinum package, so that is when we did a few "new" to us restaurants.
1. CRT - OK, not new to us, we've been there before. The first time, we said it was a one-time thing due to cost (or being 2 DDP credits), but ever since, we are hooked for breakfast and we've been 3 times now. Still enjoyed it - finally got a table near the windows this time - so cool! Nothing necessarily special about the food, but I still love the atmosphere and I still had a tiny tear in my eye during the wish ceremony.
2. Crystal Palace - finally got around to this one for breakfast. Loved entering the park early and being at the end of Main Street when the park officially opened. I thought the food and selection were good for a buffet - loved the omelet station. Character interaction was a bit rushed - not nearly as good as other character meals we have tried. But, we did get to meet the entire Pooh gang so I can't complain.
3. Yachtsman - I had such high hopes for this place - I've heard so many great things here about it. I was sadly disappointed. My DH and DD have re-named it the "Yucksman". I guess our palates just aren't refined enough for fancy food - even I, the adventurous eater of the bunch, was a little out of my depth with my appetizer choice (the artisanal cheese plate). I thought we couldn't go wrong with steak - and really, the steaks were fine. Nothing that memorable or anything, but not bad either. We had eaten at Shula's a few nights earlier and at Le Cellier in the past - and I prefer both of them over the Yachtsman. However, I will say that dessert was delicious (I had the gelato) and DD loved the "paint the puzzle" white chocolate treat she got.
4. Hoop Dee Doo Revue - our surprise favorite of the trip. I knew it would be corny and silly, but I had been wanting to try it for awhile. We had great seats - right next to the stage - and the food was delicious. Good, old fashioned, comfort food really. We thought the show was funny and laughed whole-heartedly throughout. We had such a good time that DD has said she would skip CRT next time if we can do HDDR again. I can understand how the show might not appeal to everyone, but we thought it was great!
That is about it - we ate at other places too but these four stood out to me as ones that people seem to inquire about a lot!
