Does anyone know how much Disney charges for the Bridge to Happiness Cake? I would be upgrading it from the intimate standard.

If you are doing an intimate do you have to do the cake cutting at commanders terrace? I don't want to do the cake cutting until the dinner that night. I would like to just bypass that whole thing. Also, I am willing to pay to upgrade the standard to the Bridge to Happiness. How much would an upgrade cost? I would want the cake to be at the California Grill. Would I have to find a way to transport it myself?

I read on one of my many papers from DFTW that you can have your cake boxed up and sent to another event (dinner or party) after the Intimate Wedding.

Not sure about the Bridge to Happiness though. What is that exactly?

I asked my coordinator about having a cake boxed up. She said that Disney will box the cake for you but you have to transport it to the restaurant. Also, I spoke to the manager at the Yachtsman Steakhouse (where we are having our dinner) and he said I could have someone drop off the cake and they will take care of setting it up and everything.
I'm not sure how much the Bridge to Happiness cake is but I think that I read here somewhere that if you want to upgrade your cake you get a credit for the standard intimate cake and you pay the difference. I think that the credit is for like $200, but I'm not positive about that.

The Bridge to happiness cakes is one of my favorite...I regret not knowing how much it is though.

We had the bridge to happiness cake and loved it...for us having 15 ppl it was around $1300. The cake was goregous and it was the first time i think anyone there had seen that cake. I have pictures of it at my shutterfly address.

Now, since that cake is the 2 parts with the bridge in the middle which is very delicate I am not sure about the transporting unless you have it set up where you want it and not have it there during what is supposed to be the cake cutting portion for an intimate wedding. That is something your planner could help you with if it is possible.

Hope that helps.

Have A Magical Day!

We had a larger intimate and actually used the cross walk between the two buildings for our cake cutting.

My suggestion would be too still have your cake cutting ceremony/toast for picture and video sake. That way you can make sure that everything gets covered. We had them box up our cake and everyone enjoyed it at our dinner reception.

I'm not sure what the cake looks like that you are referring to, but this may not be the best option for transporting a huge cake.

Thank you all for your replies! The Bridge to Happiness cake (sorry I don't have a picture) is the cake that has three seperate round cakes and there is a bridge connecting the two bottom cakes with Cinderella and Prince Charming on one. The third cake is above the other cake and it has a castle cake attached to it. Sorry, that was so confusing I know!

Thanks for posting pics of the cakes. That really helps to visualize. And they look so good, my tummy is rumbling.

Not sure if this helps we were told the same about boxing the cake and transporting it on our own, however, we were also told once it was disassembled at the ceremony, the restaurant (CA Grill in our case), would not be 'authorized' to reassemble it for us.

Your EM would have to order this as a custom wedding cake, and deduct the standard intimate cake cost from the total cost. You would need to inquire about the cost per person, and the cake minimum, which I believe is 65 people for the bridge cake with the small castle. You could have the cake delivered to the Cali Grill, but you probably will not be able to have it right in the restaurant during regular seating hours. You will most likely be required to pay for one of the small banquet rooms on the top floor, i.e. Napa or Sonoma rooms.

PrincessMo, did you decorate that cake table yourself? I love the little Christmas trees! I'm having a Dec wedding, and I just love your table!
