I've been pouring over these boards for a week now, gathering some great information for the planning of my WDW, but I'm curious...looking back, is there anything you wish you had done differently for your weddings? I thought this planning was going to be so simple, yet it seems more complicated by the day! We know we are going to be having an Intimate wedding, only our parents and my little sis will be attending. My family has been to Disney plenty of times, yet my fiance has never been to Disney, neither have his parents. He says it's difficult for him to help make any decisions about planning, where to stay, where to eat, etc. because he's never been there. I want to make sure this is special for him and his family. I feel a little spoiled knowing how wonderful this will all turn out. I'm looking for any suggestions anyone may have to help make this perfect for him and his family in case I forget any details. :)

Michelle-
You can find out so much information about the different venues and resorts online - maybe showing your fiance some photos of the options would help him.
My fiance had not been to WDW before either. But we had been to DL twice - so we knew Disney was the right match for us. In our case, my fiance was happy with everything I chose - the details of the day were left up to me for the most part. Your fiance can help pick the ceremony, the food, the cake flavors...If you are looking to add some extra special events to your trip - maybe planning a Wishes cruise for the group of you. I'm sure you'll find a way that you both have a magical FTW.

Thanks! I've been sharing photos with him of all the years I've visited, and he is really excited about Epcot more than anything. I tried to tell him how much there is to do and see, and I don't think that Disney's magnitude has really hit him yet. The main thing he says he wants a say in is the cake. He loves his cake! We've been looking at everyone's wedding pictures together, and he's really looking forward to having our wedding there. We've decided that we liked Sunset Pointe the most. My parents wanted us to use the WP, but we liked the outdoor atmosphere on SP, and we definitely don't have palm trees here, so it will be like we're on a tropical vacation. I just can't wait to set the date! :cloud9:

Neither my DH nor I had ever been to WDW before our wedding...so it was hard to figure out a lot of things.

I learned an incredible amount just hanging out on the DIS (on the Theme Parks board, the Resorts board, and the Dining board, as well as the Wedding board). Visiting those other boards will let you know about special tours (we did the Around the World Segway tour at Epcot and it was fabulous) or "out of the ordinary" things to do. It's really amazing!

I also learned alot from the allears site.

For the wedding stuff...watch some of the gallery samples here: http://www.stvsweddings.com/gallery/

My DH and I got so excited about our wedding by watching those videos!

You mentioned wanting to use Sunset Pointe. It was originally my first choice too...but we ended up at Sea Breeze Point. Anyway, Disney has changed some of the "rules" at Sunset Pointe...the biggest change being they only allow brides to schedule this location during certain times of the year (October through March, I believe) and that may have an effect on your date.

Just wanted to let you know when you are chosing your date that Sunset Pointe is not available for weddings from May through October due to the heat.

Just keep reading on these boards and you will find what you need to know. Check out the restaurant section as well for tips on the most romantic places to eat etc.

SInce you say your fiance is looking forward to Epcot the most maybe you can surprise him with the Segway tour one morning. It is so much FUN!
