My brother is getting married this month, and we are giving his fiance' a general bridal shower. Can you share with me some cool games/activities that you have seen at bridal showers? Thanks :)

Once my friend did a wine/ food tasting for the bridal party, which I think it's pretty cool. They set up different tables to showcase each regions' special food & wine. E.g. you'll have a Japanese table with sushi / tempura and sake. Then have another table with French crepe and french wine; and English minced pie with Ale...etc.

Everyone has a blast.

A fun thing I've seen at a couple is to divide up into teams and have each team dress a "bride" using toilet paper. The real bride than gets to judge the creations. Some people have gotten pretty creative. Others end up looking like mummies.:D

For my bridal shower, which was just a few weeks ago, we had bridal bingo. Each person had a blank bingo card and they had to fill it in with gifts they thought I'd get. It definitely kept everyone more interested in the opening of the gifts because that can take forever!! I also went to a bridal shower where they had a what's in your purse game. They listed a variety of things (lipstick, keys, cell phone, etc.) and you got a certain number of points for everything you had in your purse. They also gave bonus points- for example the bride-to-be has a volkswagon, so if you had volkswagon keys, you received bonus points. The table with the most points got prizes.

Check out Ultimatewedding.com and theknot.com for lots of cute ideas.

Thank you for your help and ideas!! :) I really appreciate it!

A spin on the toilet-paper idea...in Hawaii, we have a tradition where after the bride opens her gifts, the bridal party "wraps" her using the wrapping paper and make it look like a wedding dress. And the bows are stuck through a paper plate to form a "bouquet." Once, we had a bride-groom shower, so we also wrapped the groom. Usually there's enough paper to make a veil too.

Another neat idea, IMO, from a shower I attended was someone made a little scrapbook and took a picture of each guest with one of those photo-sticker camera things. They stuck the picture of the person on a page, and that person would write to the bride on that page.

My best friend (who is way more polished than I ) gave a shower where she pre-made wedding dress cookies (she had four different shaped wedding dress cutters) and frosted them white. Then each guest decorated one and the bride got to vote on her favorite and give the winner a prize. It was fun (but probably way too much work for me!:D ).

how about karaoke:) I know cheese city but it's a hoot to watch

at my daughters shower they did a really neat idea
they took bic pens and popped the little end off
then they put a silk flower in the end and wrapped the pen with florist tape

they placed bouquets of the "flowers" in a vase and used it for tthe center piece and when the time came for games each person picked a flower to use and keep

At mine my Matron of Honor played a fun game. She had printed up index cards with a name of a famous woman, and some information about her. One was taped to the back of each guest, without showing that guest who the person on the card was. You then had to ask everyone else questions about who "you" were, and try to guess correctly. I was Monica Lewinsky!

Hey JC....congrats to your brother!

At alot of showers here we have done a game of 10 questions about the bride and groom to see who knows them best....where they met, where they are honeymooning, where they will live, what they do for work, etc(whatever seems to be appropriate).

Also, we sometimes ask people to bring a favorite recipe to put in a nice recipe box.

How about "Bridal Tic-Tac-Toe"? Have each guest make a tic-tac-toe thingy :D and fill it in with words having to do with a wedding (gown, bouquet, cake, garter, flower girl, etc....whatever they can think of)....then you read off a list that you have put together, when you read a word that they have they put an "x" thru it. When they have 3 in a row they win.

Have fun!

I just gave a baby shower & got ideas off the internet (even printed bingo cards!). Just "google" bridal shower and see what you get. A big hit was the jumbled words. We, of course, had to un-scramble baby words, but you could use words related to weddings & a honeymoon.
Since we had a brunch shower, we had quiches, green salad, tomato/mozzarella salad, fruit salad, chocolate-covered strawberries & cake.

You guys have Such great ideas!! Thank you! :) :)
