Bridal shower gift ideas

My friend who is 29, is getting married and I am invited to her bridal shower. This will be held at her aunty's house with close family and friends. She is a conservative person, so I need to get her something that will not embarrass her and something that is suitable to open in front of her mom and such.
Any ideas?
She does have a bridal registry with mostly household appliances and towels.

Id get her something off her registry if you are worried about getting her something thats embarassing. Or I would maybe get her something a little personal but not so much so. Something like Bath and Body Works lotions and soaps. Ive gotten those type things for friends in the past.

I am doing this thing for my friend where I am giving her a large basket with 2 towels, 2 pairs of flip flops and other various "beachy" items because she is going to Hawaii for her honeymoon. I am also getting her a plate from this place:
The Pottery Piazza. Everyone at the shower signs it and then the place glazes it and she can use it as either a show piece or a serving dish.

You could always buy her something personal,(a fav bath & body fragrance, her fav movie on DVD, a special Disney item ) and then get her a gift card to the place where she is registered as well.

I had just purchased something that was off their registry and will be putting together a restaurant gift certificate as their wedding gift.

As for the bridal gift, .... they are getting married here in Hawaii, but the basket idea is cute. I also like the pottery idea, but we don't have something like that here. I might just go along with making up a basket with lotions, candles, ....and someone else recommended a Chicken Soup for the Bride type book.
