Has anyone not given their bridal party a gift? Our bridal party hasn't done anything to help us and in many cases has made this more stressful for us, so we just don't really know if this is something we need to do. Is it something that is expected either way?

We paid for the bridal party's clothing along with some specialty items: rented men's suits, top hats for them to keep, material for the BM's gowns which they made, and coats & fur muffs that I made. So, our gifts were used in the wedding, but the top hats and coats/muffs were also fun for later use. Our bridal party wasn't overly involved either, so it seemed like a great way to gift. I know lots of people give accessories as their gift, we just made it really personal.

I don't have a bridal party but I've been in 3 weddings and I would definitely expect a gift if I'd be travelling to a destination and if I had to pay for my bridesmaid dress. It doesn't have to be something big but maybe something travel related that helps offset their travel costs, like a $25 Disney gift card that they can use towards tickets or hotel.

Oh, I forgot about that part, we paid for their hotel as well (we got some villa rooms that we all shared). I think doing that is certainly a viable gift (and more useful).

We ended up giving our bridal party nicer welcome bags with lots of extra items in them compared to the regular guests. They were also monogrammed canvas bags besides the regular gift bags our other guests got. Then for the groomsmen we paid $25 each towards their tuxes and for the bridesmaids I bought them a Belle rose Swarovski bracelet for them (I got it at a great discount, for around $30 each). We honestly couldn't have afforded to pay for more items than that, but they all appreciated what we were able to get them.

We are only have a maid of honor (grooms sister) and a best man (brides brother).... so we wanted to get them something to remember the day by. we have not figured out what to get my brother but we are getting his sister a return to tiffanys heart tag bracelet and having it engraved on the back of the heart tag. they are $ 210.00.

We plan on doing a surprise backstage tour for our wedding party. It was DF's idea and I think it would be fun!

I'm making my girls quilts. It's the same pattern and each one is in the girl's favorite fabric colors.

I got my girls canvas bags with their names embrodered on it and an iron on that reminded me of their personalities. Inside I made them bridesmaid t-shirts, and I got them an adorable mickey necklace from Avon. If I ever figure out how to post a picture I will post one!

Wow you girls are really creative. Those are all really good ideas. I agree with girli565 though. Your party may not be helping out bu they are travelling for your day so I would give them something. Doesn't need to be expensive

We thought about it, and ended up agreeing with what was posted earlier, in that because they are travelling, we should get them something. I ended up ordering necklaces for the girls with their initials and white topaz:

We are going to get the guys steins (from Germany in Epcot) and get them all a shot glass or flute from WDW as well.

We are also paying for my MOH's dress, hair/makeup, and I bought her a cute hair flower to wear off Etsy. So I'm pretty sure all of those are "gifts". I might still get her something jewelry related. My DF's BM is wearing his own black suit, but I am buying him a tie...we will figure out a gift for him, but we will definitely be getting them something. They will be traveling pretty far for our wedding so I think it's a nice gesture.
