Bridal Expo question

I am planning on going to a bridal expo this weekend... has anyone been to a bridal show before? If so, do many guys go? I've been trying to talk my fiance into going but he thinks he'll be the only guy there. TIA

Ive been to a few and have seen a LOT of guys there. Some places will even have a bar set up for him...so he can have a drink and relax while you go around looking. Just tell him there will be TONS of free food and he will probably get interested

Well, my fiancee and I go to bridal shows all the time and there are quite a few men there. He even knew some of them!! LOL!! But, just tell him that maybe he can go check out the dj and food vendors and other man things so that way he doesn't feel so left out.

If I dragged my fiance to a bridal expo, he might rather have a root canal! Last one I went to about a month ago was extremely crowded and difficult to navigate.

As far as I'm concerned bridal expos were made for women. Unless your fiance is heavily involved in planning the intricate details of your wedding, he probably wouldn't get a heck of a lot out of it. My fiance would go with me then later kill me.

But maybe I'm in the minority!!!

My DF and I have gone to several. It was mostly women, but there were some guys there. DF didn't mind too much because he's into the wedding planning though

Just make sure that you do NOT get your ring cleaned. My aunt told me of a story where someone got their ring cleaned at a bridal show and the person switched out the diamond when they weren't looking. It is apparently very easy to switch, especially if you have four prongs because they only have to undo one prong and the diamond slides right out.

Don't forget to bring return address labels with you with your name and address on them if you plan to enter for any freebies. If you don't you'll be writing your name, address and phone number all day!

this is an excelent idea...ive done this

But i do have to add that you should be prepared for the ENDLESS telemarketing calls from those companies. At one point I got so annoyed by their calls, pressing me for my business, i told them the wedding was off....they stopped.

i would bring your MOH or Mom before DF....its more directed at brides

I never gave my telephone number, and I only gave my address to the companies I was really interested in. Most of the time I found that they only want some form of contacting you. I created a new email address strictly for these. I also use it for other wedding things such as ordering online and such.

I am sort of the bridal expo queen. I have been to 5 in 3 different states. Probably a little overboard, but I love them. The free cake is the best part!

I totally agree with the suggestion to bring your own addy labels. It cuts back on A LOT of time. But be careful with giving out your email. You will get a lot of spam. GL and have fun!

It's at the florida mall's hotel, called the FL hotel and conference center. It's being put on by Plan It Expo, on sunday june 10th 1-5. The number is 1-877-WED-SHOW. Hope that helps
