Bricks at the entrance

Hi all,

Does anybody know if you can still place the bricks with your names on at the entrance to Disneyland?

We are celebrating my partners 30th birthday there next year and would love to do this as a little present for him.

They don't sell them anymore. I don't know if they'll do so again.

They stopped them in Feb 2011. But you never know if they will start again.

As an alternative, I saw recently that you can buy a share in Disney and get a really cool framed certificate with a chosen quote by Walt Disney. I'm thinking of getting that for my kids so they can 'own' a piece of Disneyland.

It is about 3 times the cost of a share, but really is nice.

Bought my daughter one share in Disney when she turned 5. We had it framed professionally, and it will be something she will have forever (the brokerage fees to sell one share pretty much guarantee that).

Anyway, it became a good learning tool for her about how shares work, and how she owns her own little piece of Disney.

I used the analogy of a balloon being all of the shares of Disney, and if we drew a little circle on it, that was her share. I explained how every time someone spent money on or at Disney, it was like a little puff of air going into the balloon - and once you blow the balloon up, the little circle becomes a big circle.

And no, I didn't go the next step of explaining to her what happens if the balloon pops...
