The latest news about the masseuses puts him deeper in the hole.

Do you think he has forever tarnished his legacy?

Yes, I think there is no going back for him

I agree. I don't think all of his escapades have been uncovered. The news commentator mentioned there were a lot of texts to the masseuses.

He has been his own undoing.

Yep. He should have stayed retired the first time around.

Who really cares other then his family. It gets really old having this plastered all over the media. The only difference between Farve and most other sports icons is he got caught. I remember back in the Tommy Kramer days. I was at a clinic at a college near the Vikings Training camp. We went out one night and there were many of the Viking's players at the bar. Tommy Kramer, days out of treatment for alcohol abuse, had at least 10 empty drink glasses in front of him while "entertaining" a few young women sitting on his lap. I am sure his WIFE knew nothing about that too. It certainly didn't make headlines.

What a putz.... Another Tiger Woods. I always feel so bad for the wives & families; how embarrasing to have your husband & father with such a reputation.

He tarnished his "legacy" a few years ago when his "retirement" became a running joke.

Good riddance to bad garbage.

I don't know. I think most Brett fans can and will separate his exploits on the field from his exploits off the field (such as they are) and will always see him as one of the greatest quarterbacks in the game. Five ... ten years from now, no one will be talking about Brett's text messages. They'll be talking about his passing record or his number of consecutive starts. The texting stuff is a blip that will be forgotten as soon as the next scandal comes along.

I mean, come on. Michael Vick is starting and playing some pretty smokin' football. How many times have you heard a commentator remind us that Michael Vick is a convicted felon who did jail time for dog fighting? The fans have all but forgotten Vick's past, and his problems were eons bigger than Brett's.

History will remember Brett Favre for his skill on the football field, not for his stupidity off of it.

Yup - my thoughts exactly.

My feelings exactly, though I would add "Shame on the NFL for dragging their feet on their investigation." Pretty coincidental how it all came to a close as the season became irrelevant to the Vikings, eh?

I'm saddened though, as there goes all the value of my 25 Favre rookie cards. ;)

I don't know, it seems like whenever I hear his name his conviction is brought up in some way shape or form. I can't remember specifics. Anyway, it still comes up. I don't know if people are over the thing with Vick.

I guess time will tell for them both.

Not everyone has forgotten what a piece of garbage Vick is. The NFL sure has...:sad2:

I'm not. And I am an Eagles fan. I feel no joy when Vick does anything in an Eagles uniform. In fact, since he joined the Eagles, I don't watch the Eagles much anymore. I certainly would not have wanted him executed like that idiot from Fox News, but I sure as heck would have been OK with a MUCH LONGER jail term, and if I owned an NFL team, he would not have worked for me when he got out.

That said, he did his time, and I don't own a football team, so I guess he should count himself lucky to be where he is. And he will likely get the franchise tag for next season, which means he should make about 16 million bucks a year.... not bad for a convicted felon.

But I wonder even more why people give a darn about people like those Kardashians, Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan..... or, apparently a whole lot of the Disney kids....

I'm sicken that Vic was allowed to come back to the NFL.

Maybe I was fooling myself but Brett Favre would been the last sport celebrity I would have ever guessed to do something like this.

Yes to his personal legacy. No to his on-field accomplishments, which will stand for a long time.

I don't care about what any athlete does off of the field. His texts and photos don't change any of his stats and that is really all that matters as far as his NFL legacy is concerned. You hear people complaining about intrusions into our lives, like the TSA scanners, but those same people stick their noses in celebrity's business all the time. This is between Brett, his family, and the people he texted and none of our business.

I think people the follow celebrity gossip must lead very boring lives and have to find excitement thorough the exploits of total strangers. It's kind of sad really.

If anything will tarnish his NFL legacy it will be his poor seasons at the end of his career but a lot of athletes stick around a little too long.

As for Vick, he committed a crime and was punished. The matter is done so move on. People dwell on the past way too much.

I didn't say everyone had. There will never be a time where everyone forgets what Vick did. Or what Tiger did. Or what Brett did. But their legacies will be how they performed on the field. That asterisk after their name that tells of their personal lives? Just a little blip of punctuation.

I look at someone like Michael Vick and figure that he's done his time, paid for his crimes, and has managed to get his old job back. He didn't whine or call himself a victim or cause drama in jail or spend his time telling everyone how it wasn't fair. He shut up and did his time. Do I want him for my best friend? No. But if he keeps his nose clean from here on out, I'm okay with that.

Since I live in the Green Bay market, it's all over the news here. You can't get away from it. And "sticking my nose in his business" would be calling him personally to discuss it.

He's a public figure and therefore, will be discussed publically.

If the topic is so low-brow for you, don't bother reading it.
