Brer Rabbit appearance at SM - 5:30?

Has anyone seen Brer Rabbit and Brer Bear make an appearance at SM in the early evening (4:30 and/or 5:30)? We were at WDW in early March and while waiting for the parade the kids were playing games with some CM guys. My DS6 is Brer obsessed and one of the CMs told him to be sure to go to SM at one of these times. That night we had ressies at the Poly Luau and had to do that. DS was so upset.

Now, we are planning an unexpected August trip and would love to do this if they are really there. But, I need to know now so I can plan my dinner ADRs for that night. Thanks!

Those Brer's can be very hit-or-miss! On some trips, I see them every day outside the exit/restrooms to Splash Mountain, and then other trips they are never there at all on any day. It just depends on that day or time period! It seems sometimes the location is used frequently for a few weeks, and then to never being used for awhile. You just never know! But if they were out, they would probably have a roughly half-hour set somewhere in the 4:00 to 5:00 range, but that is a guess. Many characters don't meet any later than that, if they been meeting all day. On my trip three weeks ago, I checked Magic Kingdom almost every day, and only saw Brer Fox (very rare!) twice, never saw the other Brer's there.

Sometimes Brer Bear can be in the front of Animal Kingdom, inbetween the bag check and the ticket turnstiles. But that is very hit-or-miss, too! You can try asking at Guest Services about the Brer's, but sometimes they know nothing and automatically tell you "no". One time they told me that Brer Bear wasn't making appearances anymore, and then two minutes later I run into him!

Oh well! Maybe someone here knows the Brer's summer schedule and can help out!

At MVMCP the Brer's were out, right there at SM, but that is a special. Not sure on everyday things.

brer bear is in both mickeys jamin jungle parade and SDCT parade. brer rabbit is also in jamin jungle.

We've seen Brer Bear quit a bit - in the MK parade, at Fantasmic, outside AK. I think DS even saw him once at SM while waiting with DH. At that time, though, he was too young and didn't have such a passion for all things Brer. He would flip if he could see Brer Rabbit (his favorite). We were not planning on going to AK this trip but may have to change plans just to see the Jammin' Jungle parade.

Brer Bear was on my list of characters to meet on my last trip, I just returned from the World on June 5th and was happy to find him, I actually found Brer Bear in Epcot between Italy and the Amercian Adventure, I was just walking along and looked up and there were all these characters there and he was one of them, good luck to you.

I agree, the Brer characters are very sparatic in their appearances. I remember waaayy back in '96 they were out pretty much every time we visited Splash Mt. But then last year, we didn't even see them once!

I was so excited with my character experiences this time, the only one I am sorry I missed was Francis the ladybug, I went to Epcot for the bugs weekend Friday and Saturday and figures the one day I didn't go over she showed up, oh well. But I did finally meet Jiminy, so that was a dream come true. I think next year I might hit characters in bloom for some of the rare ones too, and then MNSSHP next year for the first time. I hope they get some more of the rare ones out.

An FYI...
To find out for certain if Brer Rabbit (or any other character for that matter) will be making an appearance in the park you can visit Guest Services as you enter any park. Ask if the CM on duty can check if the character in question will be making an appearance in the park that day. They will call a central phone number that will provide them that information. If they are going to be making an appearance the CM will be able to tell you what time and where in the park that character will be. Makes finding the characters a bit easier.

Has anyone ever seen Rabbit from Pooh!

I know some others have found Rabbit, and I actually had luck on my latest trip, I found Rabbit in the Magic of Disney Animation building at MGM, I have also heard that people have found him in the toy shop in England at Epcot.

RAbbit and Kanaga and roo will make a rare apperance occationaly at Crystal Palace in the Lobby. but only if they have because they would be replacing a regular character and RAbbit and Kanga can't go table to table, Rabbit because of his big feet and Kana because of her tail and Roo in her pouch.

I know that last year, their was a little cute "show" in Frontierland called the Frontierland hoedown. We catched it 3 times throughout our stay without even knowing it was playing (its not in the entertainment schedule). We met the 4 country bears (dressed in yellow) + Brer Rabbit and Brer Bear. The show was at 4:50 I beleive, the characters are just dancing around so its easy to get autographs and pictures with them
