Breaking the 1-bedroom seal...which should be my first?

I am all about the 1bdrm at VGF. The shower area alone is the best and even most of the Resort Views are really good. I would book VGF and then if you really want Poly Tower I would wait-list that. They seem to declare inventory every 3-4 months and the last declaration was in March so June/July may increase your wait-list odds.

I’ve stayed in 1BR at both BLT and VGF, and I’d pick VGF if I had the points. It’s swankier! And the monorail ride around to TTC to transfer to the Epcot monorail is long enough to make the walk from VGF to the GF station worth it. In my memory, at BLT it took longer to walk from our room to the CR monorail station than to ride from there to TTC.

OTOH if you got a partial-MK view at BLT like we had, sitting on the balcony to see the fireworks isn’t bad.

Oh man everyone is selling VGF! I think the allure of BLT is that we didn't get a renovated room last time and I have it in my mind that I want one but that's a silly reason. We did have an MK partial view last time so that was a nice surprise. I hate the pool area so much...it's below subpar. I think the walkway is the main selling point since it'll be so hot.

As for BRV I absolutely love the theming the best...tied with Poly as the most "non-Disney vacation" feel of all the resorts for us. Some other pros are that it's the cheapest of all three in points. We also have a few whispering canyons to take advantage of the VIPassholder deal. We also have a Hoop dee doo so it would be even closer. Cons are we were just there last month and even though it quickly became a favorite, we're also the type that like to switch it up. Hence why we like split stays.

Saw the VGF 1 bedroom tour and it really does look absolutely stunning. It would mean splurging a little more with points than we wanted but could be a nice treat for ourselves. Wow this 1 bedroom thing is a whole new world isn't it lol.

The 1 br.s at the VGF are lovely. The shower is luxurious & I enjoy the bubble tub (we swing by Basin in the GF lobby to buy bath bombs,) the walk in closet in the master bedroom is huge, I always walk into it & think dang, I should have brought my whole wardrobe 😂.
Yes, the 1 br.s cost a lot of points, but the space to spread out, the kitchen, the washer/dryer, etc. are so relaxing after hectic park days they’re worth the extra points to me.

We enjoy both resorts, but BRV would be my first choice. We love the resort and the spaciousness of the units. And accessing the pool is easy - just head out the rear entrance to the (separate) building where BRV is located. Geyser Point is one of our favorite eateries. The WL lobby is one of my happy places…….it’s really beautiful. :goodvibes

BLT is more convenient to the MK (I often wish we could walk from the WL) and most probably would be my first alternative if traveling with littles (although our grand-littles enjoy the boat too). The extra full bathroom is wonderfully convenient. Accessing the CR’s amenities is relatively easy. The pool is not that exciting for kids, but fine for adults (although it can get very crowded in our experience).

So I went ahead and grabbed the VGF 1 bedroom resort view! Watched all three tours on YouTube and yes the GF is a stunning room. Haven't been to GF in over a year and was just at BRV and BLT so that made it easier. I do have a smaller kid so the MK walkway during the summer heat really would've been great but we'll just have to "tough it out" with the monorail lol. Very excited!

I will say I still have the Poly waitlisted as I would LOVE to stay once in the new tower.

The boat is nice and relaxing. It will drop off at VGF first from MK before going to PVB. This way you don't have to ride the monorail for almost the whole loop to get back.

I would tough it out though and grab the monorail to MK though as it is the first stop and you go through security there at VGF as opposed to coming from the boat.

Enjoy!! Report back on what you think of it. We loved our resort view room ...we overlooked the porte cochere and the monorail which we all thought was so cool. those fireworks views that others have shared though ...incredible!

Let us know if your Poly waitlist comes through!!

Again such first world problems but I know we're not going to be doing this 1bedroom thing again at least for a while so want to make it a good choice! Maybe I shouldn't make it the best as that may really ruin me for studios! lol

Ahh the famous last words. I remember saying those words too... I said we were doing a 1 bedroom in 2021 since I banked so many the year before because of Covid. Loved the 1 bedroom so much that is all I get on my longer trips with others, I suffer in a studio on solo trips. And our party is only 2 (or sometimes 3). So I bought more points to get the 1 bedroom...

I see you decided on VGF. I have not stayed there, but of the options given I would have chosen VGF or BRV (or BWV since we do love it too).

VGF wins for me now…it’s why we split between RiV and VGF all the time!

THAT'S a resort view?! If ever you remember the number don't hesitate to drop it here! Might have to hit touring plans to check out the views.
I think you might already be convinced, but VGF has probably the best Resort View villas of all the DVC resorts. Ours looked out onto the covered walkway to the main building, as well as to the monorail, which is always fun to watch.
