Breaking NEWS PHOTO SESSIONS!!!!!! :-)

I had called earlier in the month and was told the same thing. I was also told that they may let a select few families take pictures but that you would have to sign a model release form so they could use some of the photos to advertise. In the case they do this, the cost for the photo session is free BUT, if we wait and book at AKL upon arrival (the only way to book right now) we would have to pay the higher price and would be subject to the new rules. We currently have a session booked and CD ordered (whew) and, therefor, would not be subjected to the new rules, that is IF they allow u s to have our photographs taken at all. We are holding on to our GF reservations and I am happy that I made them when I did. We will see if AKL works out. If not, we still have the GF appointment booked. :thumbsup2 I am also thankful for the information we receive here on the Dis. :grouphug:

Hmmm...wonder how you could be one of the lucky few families they 'model'? :confused3

What I find fascinating about that is it means they can potentially be pulling in $150 per photographer per hour, and those same photographers probably make somewhere around $10 an hour.
Even when you figure in the cost of equipment, benefits, etc...not a bad profit margin for Disney there!

I just booked BC photo shoot for 8/31 6pm and was told it would be $25 since I pre purchased the CD.:cool1: No mention of increase and I wasn't about to ask:rolleyes1 . BTW - I thought it would be all booked up with nothing available being so close but when I asked for anytime between 4-6 he said it was all open. popcorn::

I can't wait :dance3:

Previously the photographer would spend a few minutes going over the pictures after the session and could edit them at that time - zoom in, crop, add borders and such - but those could not be saved to your Park Photopass CD. Not a big deal as I would always do it at home. However, if I'm paying $75 for a photo session, I'm probably going to be going over those edits with the photographer in greater detail and making sure everything I want gets saved to the CD since I won't be able to do it myself. So, it will actually be taking MORE time for the photographer to deal with me AFTER the photo session.

$75 is kind of steep, but I'll probably still do it. I think I've been spoiled to have the same photographer twice (once at GF and once at SSR) who did a FANTASTIC job with my DS and got some really great, professional-looking (IMO) shots of DS and all of us as a family. Probably the first time I go and get just ok shots for $75 I'll be torqued, though!

OMG! I'm so glad I looked at this thread today! I need to call right now and book for Sept., before the price increase! I should have booked a while ago, but I've just been so busy! Could anybody help me? I know this has been asked before, but what is the best time to get pics taken? And does anyone know the number to book for Poly and BC?
Thanks!!!!

Thanks for the heads up. I just booked a photo shoot for Monday Sept 25 @ 5 P.M @ POLY. I was advised to bring a copy of receipt and that the fee would be $25. WooHooo
