Breaking NEWS PHOTO SESSIONS!!!!!! :-)

You pay for the session when you arrive and check in. No cc needed to reserve, but if you are not going to show, please cancel.

I bet that if these sessions become more popular (and apparently they have since they're adding other resorts) that eventually they may take a credit card over the phone and charge it if you are a "no show". :confused3

geez...what did I do? Shoot me why don't ya. :confused3 I only wanted to know because I have a Disney gift card coming in the mail from Sunshine Rewards and I was hoping to pay using that, but it's not here yet and I'm ready to book the session.

Thanks for the info.

Cherbear, I didn't make the comment about "no shows" directly at you. I was simply stating what I think it may come to since these sessions are becoming so popular. :flower3: I'm surprised that they don't already request credit cards for reservations.

I just scrolled through 63 pages to see SSR pics :surfweb: .... and there aren't any!:headache:

WAH!

No SSR pics yet? Anyone? Please? Pretty Please?

The Christmas decorations start going up about 10 days after Halloween . . . sad, but true! They are usually all up the week before Thanksgiving.

Thanks. Thatis what I am hoping. Now to decide which location.

i'm sorry but for a 'real' pro photoshoot it would cost far more than $50.

i think even at $50 its still exceptional value for money.

i dont know a pro photographer that would shoot for 30 minutes for $50... it would hardly be worth their time and effort

Heck yeah it would! I charge $149 for 10 portraits on a disc and that's a "special". But, you get what you pay for. The pictures are just fine for the price.

One thing to keep in mind when booking these Disney sessions is time of day. Make sure you're close to sunrise or sunset for the best pictures. This avoids the sun beating down on your face and that "glowing" effect, not to mention squinting eyes. It wont hurt to check your "pose" for shadows and objects either. The photopass people are hit and miss. Some haven't a clue what they're doing while others are great. It doesn't hurt to check out the scene yourself. :thumbsup2

Photopass is a bargain for $99 (when purchased in advance) and if I didn't do this for a living I'd definitely do a resort shoot! $25 is a steal! (Even $50) Last Summer the Resort shoots were free if you purchased the PP so people must be booking them!

well said, i agree with your comments 100%

Few more:) We were actually pleased that all of the shots were outside. We got shots of both the Yacht & Beach Clubs as well as the BoardWalk.

All your pictures were nice but this was the most creative. What a great shot!

:goodvibes Thank your Marine son and may God Bless and watch over him always.

Just scheduled our shoot for the Poly on Sept. 18th!! I'm a little nervous because the guy booking the shoot did not speak very good English. I couldn't understand him very well either. It was also very noisy in the background. Has anyone had problems w/ the scheduled shoot? I didn't get a confirmation time. I'll probably call back latter this afternoon to confirm. Hopefully I'll get someone who I can understand a little better.;)

I scheduled my shoot at the Beach Club for 9/21 today :) The CM told me that I had to wait 2 more days and when I said that I thought I could schedule 30 days before check-in, he let me book. :cool1:  :yay:

I was hoping to have the same luck as you. Was trying to book a shoot on 9/21 at the Poly, but was still told to call back in a couple of days. Glad you were able to book! ;)

yeah! course i have, i am with DVC so i have toll free numbers anyway.

if they offer to take my booking on the principle of international call rates then why would i refuse???

they were the ones that specified about call rates not me, but i am sure as hell going to make sure that i get the booking that i want by calling as soon aspossible to make a reservation.

only a mug would say "oh dont worry about the call rates, i'll ring back in 5 days time"

There is no need for sarcasm, I was just pointing out us in the UK do not need to have expensive phone calls. How was I to know you had a toll free number and you would take advantage of a CM's generosity.

stop being so touchy for crying out loud, and for your information i took advantage of no one, i simply called and they let me reserve there and then without me having to manipulate the situation.

i do not appreciate you twisting the comment that i in some way influenced a decision a CM had already made!!!

Totally agree with you! These are not pro pics but for the price they are sure cute and nice to have pics of the whole family. PLUS, if you are any good with photoshop you can make them look even better.. :thumbsup2

I am a photographer too so I am having a hard time convincing dh that we should do this next month.. He does not get why I would want to pay a non pro to do our pics? Well...I guess so I can BE IN THEM and they will be at Disney..haha I am taking my tripod this trip though so maybe I will do them myself and set the timer and jump in.. ;)

I don't know if we will do it or not really..we won't even have my youngest with us so it won't feel much like a "family shoot" anyway, but it would be something fun to do.

Definitely to anyone booking..avoid the mid day shoots..the sun is killer! Go for really early morning or just around sunset for the best outdoor shots! :thumbsup2 Really watch your lighting and move yourself around if you have to if the spot you are in is no good..lol ;)

I buy the Photopass...it never hurts to have extra pics just in case. (Plus they have cute borders you can add!) Last year I had two cameras mess up in a 2 day period so I had to go buy a new one while in FL. This was during the PPP so I was happy to have my Photopass in that case. I'm just too picky to do the resort thing. I'll be doing resort photos this time mostly of my kids but like you said, some with the tripod too. What part of NC are you fron? I have a cousin named Amanda in NC...

I am sooooooo excited... I just booked the Poly on September 19th for a Photo session! :thumbsup2 I was surprised my resort/package reservation number and/or credit card was not needed, she only ask for our name and cell number.

We have not had a family photo is years! I am hoping for one really good family photo... anything else will be a bonus! :goodvibes

She did tell me that I needed to bring the emailed PP CD pre-purchase receipt to show the Photographer, and that the session cost will be "1/2 off, $25.00" (so I take it we beat the price increase)? :confused3

Does anyone that has done the Poly shoot have any pointers? What color of clothing works best? Is there any "can't miss" spot there? Do they only photograph your party outside or are there inside shots?

Thank you! :flower3:

We did our WL photo shoot on Monday. I felt the pictures turned out pretty good. TS Faye was rolling in when we did the shoot- no rain, it was very cloudy. So, I will end up having to do some work on Photoshop with the pics to adjust the brightness.
The photo session consisted of our family and my BIL's family. The mom's wore yellow shirts, the Dad's wore light green shirts, the young boys wore navy blue shirts and everyone wore khaki shorts. The young girls wore matching outfits that were a plaid print of blue, green and white.

The color combos turned out very good. When I get the CD in the mail, I will post some pics.

This is a huge thread and I admit to not reading it all... I pretty much looked for "picture posts" to see the photos that have been taken. If this has been ask and answered, I missed it... please accept my apology! :flower3:

My question is this... do you/did you tip the Photopass Photographer and if so, how much? I would think yes, and 20%... but do not know for sure!

Thanks!

We wore red shirts.... our outside shots did not turn out so good the sun was too bright . They did take some pictures in front of the waterfall and one of those is my favorite. Everyone looks good no squinting....I loved the background outside but if I had to do it again I would book when the sun is not so bright.

This whole squinting issue seems to come up a lot. It's making me nervous. We scheduled our shoot for 9:30 a.m. I didn't think I'd get them all up and out for an 8 a.m. shoot since we plan to be at Fantasmic the night before. Is the sun going to be bright at 9:30?

Thanks for your response, I appreciate it! :flower3:

The red shirts look great! I had thought of white initially, but I love the reds... it fits the Poly decor (compliments it)!

The pictures are all good! I do like the waterfall pictures, thank you for sharing! :goodvibes Did you provide the leis, or did they? They are a nice touch! :goodvibes

May I ask what time you scheduled for? I may have to change my booking time to keep from squinting, I had not taken that into account I guess... I was simply trying to find somewhere to fit a session in!
