WOW! i cannot believe how varied the experiences at Donald's are!
we LOVED it! it was one of our fave parts of AK! (well, almost! LOL!) we had late ps's both times we went (just a few weeks ago and previously in 2001) and maybe that makes a difference... by the time we got there (10:15?), we were ready to take a break (having been at AK since 8am) and it was a great break!
the food was hot and fresh, even though we were at the end of the meal... the lines were non-existent, maybe had to wait for one or two people, but that was it! our waiter both times was excellent... fun and personable (it could help that we figured out that he and i grew up w/in a few miles of one another, here on long island, and he dated the sister of a girl i was friendly with in high school! small world and all that!) but even before that revelation, he offered to "take my/dh's picture" but his camera squirted water... the kids nearly died laughing! he got them back w/his ketchup trick! LOL! plus, he was quick to refill our coffee, juices and chocolate milks... even brought dh a BIG glass of milk when he downed his first smaller one so quickly! very accomodating!
AND! character interaction was excellent! again, the restaurant was not crowded, nearly emptied out by the time we were finishing up... and each character came around at least twice, if not three times, and really spent a decent amount of time with us... very playful and willing to pose for numerous pictures!
donald's has become our animal kingdom MUST DO restaurant! we even loved the picture that the photog takes as you are waiting for your table and i have a copy of it on my desk as i type!
