I have a PS for Breakfastasaurus at AK for 8:10am the saturday of Memorial wknd for two adults. Wanted to know how long the breakfast usually last. My first time and I don't want to rush and not enjoy breakfast and characters... but I also want to ride the safari as soon as it opens to help avoid crowds.

What time does AK open on memorial day weekend? We were there 3 yrs ago and did breakfast at the breakfastasaurus and I thought it was very good. We didnt spend lots of time at breakfast. I dont recall exactly how long we were there but if I had to guess I would say not more then an hour. We also went and did the safara ride early in the morning. It wasnt the first ride of the day but it was before 11:00am, I think. You will want to do the safara ride either early or before park closing when the temp is not too hot. When the sun is high the animals wont be moving around.

You seem to have the same plan as I had...and then I wanted to make it to the 9:50 show of Lion King(hoped to get there a little early).
Our breakfast took much longer than expected. We got to AK early but were made to wait for quite some time. By 8:10(when I had hoped to be seated), we were just being allowed to check in after passing through the gates. Then we had to wait for our commando waiter( think General Knowledge from Cranium Command) to gather up his crew, lead us throught he park, while shouting orders at us. When we finally made it to the restaurant and our table, we were told(yelled at) we could either go the the buffet and we would be told when the characters came out, or wait for the characters. Since there was no buffet line, and we were already running late we figured we would get food first, then see the characters while we ate. Well, we got up there, some of us had a few things on our plate and we were again yelled at " "Smith" party, get back to your table!!! Donald is at your table!!!!", etc... We immediately tried getting back and couldnt because more people & characters were now in our way. Our waiter could see we were trying and he continually yelled for us. So, we got back to our table and had to sit and wait for all the characters. I would estimate we didnt start eating until after 8:30. We ended up rushing through the meal, totally stressed and we finished just a little after 9:00. Of course, in order to keep on track of our plan, we had to run across the park to safari, but we still didnt beat the people just coming in.
I dont know if this is usual occurence at Donalds, or if they were just under pressure because they were running late this day or what. But it was not a very enjoyable experience for us. Too much pressure. We decided we will stick to Chef Mickeys where you dont need an appointment to see the characters.
Hope you have a better experience!

Did you have the show schedule in advance? If so, how did you get it?

Actually, it wasnt on the map. Its another little piece of paper they give you with the maps, called "All Four Parks Times Guide"(I just went and checked through my folders). That will have the times of the shows and the other live entertainment, like around World Showcase too.
Sorry about that. Oh and this was from August. I dont know if its changed since then.

I'm moving this to the restaurant board for you.

We did BK last year with an 8:10 PS. We neither were let into the park until 8:10 but after that our experences were very different. We had a wondeful CM that gave us a nice walk though the empty park pointing out birds and flowers as we strolled. On arrival we were seated at once and were advised that the characters would be comming around in a short time so keep a eye out for them. We waited for the first character and then hit the bar. We were able to eat and see all the characters in a relaxed time frame. We fininshed right at 9:00 but decided to stay in dinoland and tour there first. We did not make it over to the safri untill later in the day but that was not a problem as it was off season and cooler. This might not be the case when you are going. We loved BK and had a very relaxing meal there. If you are set on being a Safri at 9:00 , I would chance my PS to a late morning and you won't have to rush.

It was still at 9:50 as of three weeks ago.

It's still REALLLLLLYYYYYY Tight to try and do Donalds, the Safari and the 9:50 LK show. You might be better off doing Donald's, getting a FP for the Safari, doing the LK show, and then doing the safari.

8:10 is the first seating, and yes, because of the way they have to bring guests in from the front of the park (not on early entry days) it usually is closer to 8:20 or even 8:30 before you are seated.

We have a Donald's ps next Sunday (getting VERRRY excited :Pinkbounc) at 8:10. I was thinking of doing Primeval Whirl and Dinosaur after breakfst and then fastpassing the safari and doing Lion King. Is this a crazy plan? Will it be hard to get into Lion King later in the day?

This will be out first morning on our first day at WDW since 1997 - before AK existed. I have to have a successful plan for that morning so my teenagers don't argue all my plans for the rest of the week :)

As long as you are there 30 minutes prior to the performance, you should have no trouble getting into a LK show during the day.

As far as the rest of the question...

Plan on starting to eat about 8:25 or so for an 8:10 PS. Then Primevil (it's seldom crowded early on, but the line can take a bit because it just seems to load slowly)--then Dinosaur--figure you *should* be done between 9:30 and 9:40, you will probably have time to race across the park, grab the FP's for the Safari, and still make the LK show, but if you're running late, take the Safari and then take the walking tour, then catch the 11:00am LK, or do Bugs Life then FP the Safari take the walking tour, see the LK, and then the safari. It will still give you plenty of time to see and do everything else.

With teens, if you're going to skip anything, skip the train ride to the Conservation Station/petting zoo.

Does anyone know the last seating for breakfast? Would it be better to do the safari ,then Lion King then breakfast? Or would breakfast then be too late? I guess that would put it at around 10:45-11:00?

We have a PS for 9:20 and our first time at this breakfast.
I'm a bit confused when you say the characters would be out in a while and if you should hit buffet first.. don't the walk up to your table??

We attended a H & V buffet and Gullivers and the characters came to the table. I understand Donald is at this BF and Mickey - any other characters (Minnie or Daisey)??

We took this one because H & V is closed (which I'm totally bummed about). When I called to make H & V the CM indicated there are no character meals at MGM, and this is the only one at MK. We are not staying on property so was hoping to get in our character 'fix' in a park. We don't plan on attending Epcot and we have a Cindy's ressie for MK.

We're going on 4/27 and I only called yesterday and they had 8:10, 9:00 and 9:20 open - sounded like they had a lot of openings so wondering what the gig is.

For a 9:20 ressie - what time would you suggest we arrive??

thanks...
