Breakfast suggestions other than buffets?

Hi,
We're in a Tonga Toast rut. We love it but get it every time we go. Have tried most every buffet and are just looking for a new and yummy breakfast. It's our favorite meal of the day. We'll be three adults with two 4 yr olds. One fussy eater, one anything goes lol. Anyone have a suggestion? - thanks, Nancy

LOL, stick with Kona cafe, but for a breakfast lover try the calabash breakfast..it is fantastic. You will never eat another piece of tonga toast again.

Fresh over at the Dolphin also outstanding.

Spoodles at the Boardwalk has great breakfast.

Our two favorite non buffet breakfasts are Whispering Canyon, where we always get the skillet, and Boatwrights. I highly reccomend the sweet potato pancakes at Boatwrights.

I have heard great things about boatwrights for breakfast! We are going in february and that is one of the places i really wanted to try but we don't have enough days to get there. Next time!

We're actually staying at POR and have eaten at Boatwrights. Loved it. Haven't tried the Dolphin restaurants for any meals so that sounds exciting. Gonna check out the menu now. Is it this normal to be so interested in eating a meal that's two months away lol?? I just love Disney dining. Thanks so much for all your suggestions. - Nancy

I agree on the Dolphin and the Swan breakfasts both outstanding! Swan better on the weekend...they have characters and more selections. Best breakfast in a park is Donalds Breakfastaurus in Animal Kingdom! Go super early...and get a jump on that park. Characters all are dressed in safari clothes...its a participatory type breakfast...the waiters "goof" on you...won't give details, but its fun! Food is yummy and different..things like breakfast burritos as well as the standards. YUM! I love eating breakfast out!!!!

I am thinking about going to boatwrights for breakfast on my Feb 06 trip alsi. I don't like breakfast buffet because they are all the same: mass-produced bacon/sausage & dry hard scramble eggs. Boatwrights has the potato pancake and stuffed French toast which sounds interesting. Does anyone has any other suggestions where to go for non-buffet breakfast?

I'd like to add another vote for Boatwrights. We love the blueprint omlettes and sweet potato pancakes. When my DD7 was younger and even pickier, we bought little chocolate donuts from the general store and got her a chocolate milk at Boatwrights (we asked first and the answer was...this is WDW, we are all about making kids happy). The next couple of times we ate breakfast at Boatwrights, my DD7 had ham and chocolate milk.

Check out the Concourse Steak House menu in the Contemorary. It is right next to CM and never really crowded. Also, it may not be on the menu but ask about Sticky Mickeys.

Whispering Canyon... We absolutely LOVED it! It was the best breakfast we had our whole trip, and we can't wait to go back!

Thanks for the link! I am definitely going to try the french toast with malibu-rum butter and macadamia nuts!! Wow. That sounds fantastic. Could be our new tonga toast lol.

Challah French Toast ... yumm...
I think it is better pay out of pocket for breakfast and save the TS/CS credits on yout dining plan for dinner/lunch.

Some of my favorites: the macadamia pineapple pancakes and Tonga Toast at Kona; sticky mickeys at Concouse; the sweet potato and ham hash and homemade pineapple jam (they'll bring you a side for your toast even if you don't get the french toast it comes with) at Olivia's; the apple oatmeal at Roaring Forks; Mickey waffles anywhere!

We too have heard great things about Boatwrights for breakfast and will be giving it a try in January, too. Can't wait to try the Sweet Potato Cakes!!!
