Hi,

Can anyone recommend a good breakfast that is not in one of the parks but is onsite? It’s for our first day and looking for something nice. I don’t want to trigger our first official Park day on my tickets but happy to get the Disney bus to DS or one of the hotels. My daughters will be 8yrs and 10yrs.

Thank you!

Character Meals:
Cape May Cafe, Beach Club
1900 Park Fare, Grand Floridian
Ohana, Polynesian

Non-Character Meals:
Kona Cafe, Polynesian
Boma, Animal Kingdom Lodge

Boma and afterwards take your daughters outside for the animal viewing. And check out the activities calendar for the place. If its a non park day really no place better to spend a day than AKL.

For girls, 1900 Park Fare would be a fun character meal to get in the swing of things. We also like Chef Mickey's which would be a good way to kick off a trip. You can enjoy the monorail at either one as well.

If you don't want characters, I agree with the Boma recommendation.

another vote for Boma unless you want a character meal.
Watching the Ssvana is priceless and the lobby and resort are beautiful.

We ate breakfast at Olivia's at OKW yesterday morning. I had two pancakes, two eggs and two slices of bacon (plus OJ). Bill had two eggs, two slices of bacon, toast, coffee and OJ.

We love the breakfast at Rainforest Cafe at the entrance to Animal Kingdom also the breakfast at Kona Cafe and Trails End are excellent.

No characters but the Grand Floridain Cafe at GF does a breakfast/lunch menu until 2:00pm or so. Raglan Road at DS does a brunch but only on the weekend.I have seen some reviews here on the Dis and it looks good. Some of the other restaurants at DS also do brunch but I haven't seen any reviews of them .Only a few of the DS QS location have breakfast during the week.

If you want a character breakfast - I would vote for Cape May Cafe at BC - the food is really good and you get to meet Minnie, Donald and Goofy in their beach clothes.

If you want non-character, we really enjoyed Kona Cafe at Poly and also The Wave at CR (like the option of either going with the buffet or ordering off the menu). If you really want to venture far afield, I would suggest Trail's End at FW - afterwards, it is fun to walk around and see the horse stables and pony ride area.

Another vote for Cape May. Great way to start a Disney vacation with some characters and good food.

We really enjoyed both 1900 Park Fare (mostly because Pooh is there, but the food was also good!) and Boma is also awesome.

recommend a good breakfast that is not in one of the parks

NOTE1: Above includes breakfast-dinner (we don't like the ala carte lunch). For
dinner, taste the yummy fried chicken and "make-your-own-potato" bar. For breakfast,
you REALLY, REALLY, NEED the sticky buns. The nice thing about breakfast, might be
the low crowds, as many campers prepare breakfast at the campsite. Breakfast Buffet
is the second best buffet, behind The Wave breakfast buffet at Contemporary for quality,
and the best price value. A point to remember is that the majority of the Trails End
customers are from the camp ground, so they prices are reasonable and the items are
good comfort food. Expect decent food, but not gourmet.
.
NOTE2: Trails End is out-of-the-way for most WDW guests. It takes about 20-min for the
boat from MK-to-FW, about 10-minutes for the boat from WL-to-FW, about 15-min for the
boat from CR-to-FW (excluding the waiting times for the next boat).
.
NOTE3: Trails is going back to a buffet for lunch on weekends. THIS IS GOOD NEWS.

NOTE1: This is a new location for a breakfast buffet. The Wave buffet has significantly
increased its variety, and now is very much worth the visit. At just under $20 per adult,
it is extremely reasonable for a WDW buffet. For breakfast, it is probably the best-kept
dining secret. it has Mickey waffles and delicious sweet potato pancakes. They use local
fresh fruit and vegetables. For those with a smaller appetite, one can do the usual ala
carte breakfast menu.
The eatery doesn't exude "Disney", but atmosphere is pleasant.
Our friends thought the "cheesy grits" were pretty good, but I cannot vouch. I don't do
grits or polenta. I also don't do quiche.
.
NOTE2: Another EXCELLENT breakfast buffet choice is Trail's End at Fort Wilderness. Either
Wave or Trail's End are great values, especially considering the other breakfast prices
at WDW.

I think athe Eave had an excellent breakfast! The citrus French toast and the sweet potato pancakes are amazing!

Without considering my daughter, my husbands and my favorites are Kona Cafe, Grand Floridian Cafe, or The Wave. All offer unique and delicious offerings and the wave has one of the least expensive and highest quality buffets on property. They would all offer a good launching off point for exploring the monorail resorts without heading to the parks.

If my daughter (7) were to pick I think she would vote for Boma. She (and we) enjoyed their plentiful offerings and she loved all the activities Animal Kingdom Lodge had to offer. Throughout the day they have several events for kids to learn about African or animal culture and earn a "bead" for a necklace. They are fun and free activities that you can ask about at the front desk.
