Hi Guys

My family of 4 (kids 7 and 5) will be visiting in January 2020, staying at the GCH.

Preparing for the parks to be busy at that time, so we'd like to take our advantage of our Extra Magic Hours each day, which are likely (based on past dates) to start at 8:00am for both parks during the early part of our stay (Mon-Thurs).

So that we don't waste valuable time eating breakfast during our EMH, our plan was to get to the parks at 8, enjoy the lowish crowds during EMH for an hour, and then stop for breakfast about 9:15am.

Just wondering what our sit down breakfast options are in either park? We'd prefer to not have to venture out into DTD, and then put up with the turnstills getting back in.

Do you guys think our strategy is a good one? When we are in DCA, is our best bet to head back to GCH for breakfast, since it's so close?

Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't waste time with a sit down breakfast even at 9:15 - I'd go to Flo's in DCA and Red Rose Tavern in DL for yummy counter service breakfasts. There are a couple more options in each park but those two are my favs.

Yes, I'd prefer not to waste the time either. But my kids will likely just want avocado on toast, or a cheese and ham toastie for breakfast. Is that possible at those places (or anywhere for that matter)?

Cheese and Ham is definitely available at Jolly Holiday HERE is the link to all the menus on WDW Info. HERE is Touring Plans Menus and HERE is the menus on All Ears. The first two are searchable to find the menus items you're looking for. All counter service restaurants will have simpler items than the sit down choices and they'll be vastly cheaper and faster too.

You might want to consider having muffins, yogurt, fruit, granola bars etc. in the room, to munch on the way to the gate or as you stand in line for rope drop. That will tide you over until you can finish those golden hours of touring, then you can have a late and leisurely brunch. 7 and 5 are great ages for a character meal; would that be possible? You could do 10:30 a.m. Minnie and Friends at the Plaza Inn.

Thanks for the tip!

A character breakfast is definitely on the cards - but not sure it's the kind of thing my kids would care to do every day of our trip.
