We will be staying at SSR for the first time in a few weeks. It looks like having a sit-down breakfast is going to be a challenge. We do have one ADR scheduled for the Kona Cafe during our trip. Does anyone have a good suggestion for breakfast that is not too inconvenient to get to? Or do you usually just eat in your room while staying at SSR?

All DVC resorts have some sort of dining options, SSR has Artist Pallette, The Turf Club etc. If you go to the top of this page and click dining to follow the llinks to any resort or park for dining options.

Thanks for your reply. I am really hoping to find a place where we don't have to stand in line to get our food, which I think is the way it is at Artist Pallette (though I could be wrong - I've never eaten there). We do have a dinner ADR for Turf Club, but I don't think they are open for breakfast. We will be a party of 10, with 8 of us being teenage boys ranging in age from 16 - 18. This seems to eliminate many of the in-park dining options - princess breakfasts, Jojo's character breakfast. We have stayed at BWV numerous times and there are several options for a good breakfast in that area. I was really hoping to find a place that I may have overlooked that would offer a table service breakfast without being too inconvenient to get to.

Sit down breakfast option, but not Artist Pallete.

Are you looking for a Park dining option? Like Crystal Palace or someting like Boatwrights at Port Orleans? If the boat is running, take that to Port Orleans.

What time of day are you planning on eating breakfast? That is a factor because of transportation.

The line at AP is not that difficult. Going to Kona's you will stand at the bus, at the monorail, while waiting to be seated (if they are busy). It'll take you abut an hour to get to Kona's.

If your staying at SSR your just around the corner from OKW and OLivia's. It is sit down full service dining for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A few years ago it was a charecter dining option for breakfast however over time and other popular resorts it is no longer offered.

I also believe that Earl's at DTD has breakfast options.

Earl of Sandwich @ DTD (right where the SSR path enters DTD) has a fabulous breakfast - you do wait in line, but the quality is amazing and it's an incredible value.

8 teenage boys :scared1:

You are correct the AP is a CS that you would stand in line for. It is very good and different though, so you may want to try it. Turf Club is only open for lunch/dinner.

The 1BR, 2BR & GV all have full kitchens which may be easiest for you. If you have a car, there's a few restaurants off property (barely) at Crossroads shopping center, including a Perkins (nothin fancy but good coffee :) )

If you have a car, there's an IHOP very close, there's a Golden Griddle just on the other side of Rt. 4.

With 8 teenage boys they better have a bus and a lot of $$$ for food. I've got two teenage boys and I need a second income just to feed them at times.:rotfl2:

Thanks for the input - you have all given me some good alternatives. I do love the tonga toast at Kona, but I'm thinking that it might be too much of an effort to get there with all 10 of us.

The majority of our breakfasts will definitely be in the room, but I thought it would be nice to get once or twice. It's too bad they don't serve breakfast at the Turf Club.

OK...I think the Stuffed french toast at Boatwrights is every bit as good as Tonga Toast. So, if you are staying at SSR...can you take a boat over to POR and enjoy the breakfast there?

We had 2 childrens' car seats and a child's booster seat and 1 car this past October and I did shuttled our group of 8 over to POR from VWL for the breakfast and a morning's swim at POR. We enjoy it that much.:goodvibes It comes with strawberries:cutie:
