Anybody ever eat their breakfast while waiting in line at the gates? If so, what kinds of foods do you take with you? I am thinking this could save a little time on MM days when trying to get to the parks early.
Breakfast bars, dry cheerios, yogurt, a banana. Just enough to get us through the first couple of hours, then we stop for a coffee/snack break mid-morning.
We are trying to figure out breakfast as well. We might pick something up on the way to the parks from PPH, or we might buy some breakfast pastries or something easy like that to eat before we leave (though we could bring them with us if we want).
Sometimes the hotels start serving breakfast that early.
Carnation instant breakfast with one of those chewy granola bars is actually a pretty filling and portable breakfast. We also eat fresh fruit, individual boxed cereal, apple sauce, sometimes a sandwich that was made the night before, yogurt, crasins, graham crackers, fruit snacks, individually packaged nuts. If your hotel room has a toaster you can bring waffles and make like a peanut butter sandwich with them, or heat up those frozen sausage patty things and make a sandwich with that and the waffles instead. My mom would make those for us when we were running late for the bus when i was in school
I second the dry Cheerios and fruit that SF Mommy suggested. I will also possibly bring a yogurt (that's my normal breakfast at home anyway). If you and your family are also fans of peanut butter, I make a snack of dry regular Cheerios and peanut butter swirled around in a container. I know it sounds kinda weird and it looks odd when you do it, but it is really good source of fiber and protein and peanut butter will give lots of energy, especially at that time of the morning and it is filling so that nobody is screaming 'I'm Hungry!!' 20 minutes later. HTH!
We are not sit-down breakfast people at home or on vacation, so when we go to Disney we eat as we walk to the park. In the past we've had Luna bars or some other protein bars, but now that DD has food allergies and I am a gluten-free vegan, we'll have to find other options. I have also done a gluten-free vegan protein powder mixed in OJ, that works well for me but the kids wouldn't like it.
I like to bring a package of disposable cups with lids, then we buy drinks at one of the convenience stores near our hotel. I will usually make coffee in the room for myself, or get some in the hotel's breakfast room (if it's open). My husband and boys usually opt for Gatorade or juice. For food, I bring Pop Tarts for the boys, and Luna Bars for myself. If we don't have time to eat in the room, we eat on our walk to the front gates. It's nice being able to toss the disposable cups and wrappers in a trash can before we get to bag search. I've also bought frozen breakfast sandwiches (I like the Weight Watcher's kind). My husband I nuke them before leaving the hotel, and eat them while we walk.
Bagel sandwiches, usually with pb&j, travel well and are easy to eat relatively mess free in line. Trail mix is a good portable choice too and the protein from the nuts usually means you'll be satisfied enough to make it down Main Street without stopping for the many wonderful breakfast treats that await you there.
We bring things to eat in the room while we are getting dressed like gogurts, pop tarts, granola bars, muffins, milk, cereal, fruit like bananas, apples. Things we can eat while we get dressed quickly that will hold us over for a while.
The only time we don't eat breakfast in line is when we are at a character breakfast We'll eat fruit, muffins, gogurt, cheese sticks, dry cereal, granola bars, basically whatever and it usually holds us over until lunch time, with some snacks inbetween. Have fun and happy breakfast
When we drive we bring down an ice chest with us. So I buy it at home and then travel with it in there. So that being said we have brought breakfast sandwiches we eat while getting ready. My kids really like Apple Cinnamon instant oatmeal. So I bring red solo cups and plastic spoons. I use the microwave to make it warm. My kids like it on the chewy side and they will even walk with eat. We have also gotten Mc Donalds on harbor and walked up with that. I can't remember if we stopped before we got there or walked through with it and ate in line. We usually eat a light breakfast and then the kids start snacking pretty early in our day. That's why I bring my snacks with me or else I'd be stopping every 5 minutes!!
We ate Fiber One bars one day. A roll of Hostess mini chocolate donuts and milk another. McDonalds another day (one of us left to place the order while the other finished up getting ready and I got to McDs right as he picked up the food). And one day we skipped breakfast and had bignets as soon as the stand opened.
Oh right, I did treat my kids to beignets from Jazz Kitchen one day, as we walked to the park, and I picked up a Jamba Juice for myself. The beignets are a messy thing to eat while walking/lining up, but the kids didn't beg for treats all morning .

Yogurt with granola cereal and fruit mixed in. Also, plain fruit, or PB on Bagel with bananas. I've seen others eating Lunchables, breakfast bars, McDonalds, even hard boiled eggs... I guess anything that is not messy and is portable.
