I've never been a real breakfast person - give me coffee and a cookie and I'm good - well - now I see that the "good" only lasts about 1 hour and I'm back for another cookie ....not good!!
So, my friends - I really need your input on good breakfast ideas - keep in mind I'm not on a structured diet - my goal is to be able to eat sensibly and in moderation.

thanks.....

One of my faves is 2 pieces of diet toast with peanut butter and bananas on top. I like poached eggs, too. But then I gotta wash a pan!!

Hi, Paula!

For the past few months I have flipped back and forth with these two breakfasts - either 1/2 an English muffin (raisin for me!) with 1 tbsp whipped cream cheese and a half a banana OR 1/2 cup (cooked, so that's 1/4 cup dry) oatmeal with 1/2 banana (I mash the banana up in the oatmeal and it's great!) You could always have a whole English muffin or a little more oatmeal. And a whole banana or a piece of fruit that's appealing to you. Have you had any peaches this year? I just got some earlier this week and they were so sweet and juicy! :)

Good luck! You'll find the cookie and coffee is easily replaced with something that keeps you fueled through the morning. You could also try having a lowfat yogurt for a mid morning snack to get you through to lunch! :)

The stoneyfield fat free yogurt is a good breakfast too. Throw some fresh fruit in and YUM! There is protein, fiber and lots of calcium!

I also like oatmeal, very filling!

When I was doing the WW I would have 2 rashers of turkey bacon, 1 scrambled egg, 1 grilled tomato and 1 slice of diet bread. Since I have been on Atkins I have been having either a cheese or bacon omelette.

here are my favorite WW breakfasts:

2/3 c raisin brain with 1/2 c. vanilla soy milk - 3 pts

one half multi-grain english muffin with 1 TBSP tofu cream cheese - 2 pts - add think slice of tomato for no more pts

1/2 c. Light-n-Fit yogurt with 1 cup berries - 2 pts

2 Aunt Jemima low-fat pancakes with butter spray and dollop sugar free syrup - 3 pts

1/2 c. FF Egg Beater omelet with any veggies I have (broccoli, onions, green pepper) and one slice Aunt Millies 5 grain bread as toast - 2 pts

Ham with cream cheese roll-ups (2-3 pts depending on ham)

Man, I hate yogurt. Funny taste unless it's sweet like the fruit-on-the-bottom Breyers stuff. Goes down in no time, then I'm never sure I actually ate anything!!!

Our favorite breakfast around here is Boma oatmeal.

Take a crock pot, spray lightly with Pam. Put in 16 oz of water and 1 cup of the old fashioned oatmeal (not instant or quick)

Plug the thing in (preferrably on a timer so it starts cooking around 2:30 am) and in the morning your breakfast is ready and it's wonderfully creamy oatmeal. Throw some raisins in, a bit of butter and a little brown sugar. Mmmmm. We had it today, we're having it tomorrow. High fiber with oatmeal AND raisins. :)

My mom even bought me a very small crock pot with a removable insert (more for keeping dips warm at parties) just so we could do oatmeal without making the big crock pot dirty all the time.

Yes, it is named "Boma" oatmeal after Animal Kingdom Lodge's restaurant. They serve the same creamy oatmeal.

Of course, my favortie breakfast NOT at home is the cream cheese stuffed french toast at Cindy's :)

well this morning I settled for a single service box if Crispix with fresh strawberries - I'm thinking a bagel tomorrow - or I should say a 3/4 bagel - I always cut most of the top off anyway.

For a grab and go breakfast my favorite is the Zone Perfect bar. I get 6 of them for less than $5 at Target. I love the Chocolate Peanut Butter and the Chocolate Mint. It is sort of like a chocolate coated Rice Krispie treat, but very "proportionate" in fat-carbs-protein. The Apple Cinnamon are great too - no chocolate coating on those. They truly keep me full until 11:30 or 12:00 when I break for lunch.
