Hello!! We go to disney next week, 15th July and are staying in Santa Fe, I am just confused ( my hubby says I am easy confused:upsidedow ) do we get allocated a time for breakfast or can we select a time, is it worth doing the fantasyland breakfast if the parks are open early anyway with extra magic hours, just not sure what to do for the best with two kids in tow.

Any tips greatfully received as this is our first time:banana:
PS have booked a character tea at Plaza Gardens ::woohoo:  ::woohoo:  :woohoo:

You are allocated a time but often given a choice if that makes sense - in other words you can request a particular time but may not get it.

Even though the parks are open it may be worth doing GMF breakfast. You wont get in any earlier but it is a more pleasant experience than in hotel- usually less crowded and hectic.

How old are your kids? Can you all function for a couple of hours before breakfast? If so you could do EMH then go for late breakfast. By doing this GMF it means you wont have to leave the park but you could go back to hotel for this. You could grab a drink from somewhere if like me you can function without food but despertaly need an early morning cuppa.

If you want to be in the parks for EMH opening (8.00) you will probably need to opt for breakfast at 7.00 in hotel. I know I wouldnt enjoy it so early and would prefer to either skip bfast or opt to eat later

We'll be there on July 16th, but staying at Hotel NY. Do DLP DISers have a way to identify each other in the parks?

It's the same as for all DISers, something lime green like a ribbon or a Mickey head paint chip. :thumbsup2

I've always had a lime green ribbon tied on my bag but have never seen it on anyone else's! :rotfl:

Excellent advice. I may opt for this on our visit. I was trying to figure out whether or not GMF would benefit during EMH or not.

Is GMF always 8am or could we get a later time? I'm thinking we could hit the parks at opening, then grab breakfast at 10am.

Sorry thats what I meant - hit the parks then do GMF. We had it at 9.15 last time which meant we did some rides, ate bfast and then still had time for a couple of rides before opening. I think though you can eat as late as 10.00

You can certainly get a 9.45am slot for GMF breakfast, as we were offered that slot. We chose to do 9.15am instead, but as there are morning EMH when we go back in October, I'll be opting for the later GMF breakfast then.

Hi there, what does GMF mean again?

I can answer since I had to ask the same question not too long ago. It's Good Morning Fantasyland. When staying at select Disney hotels, you have the option of scheduling your breakfast inside the park. Generally you are allowed in 1 hour prior to opening. But in the discussions we've been having, the park is already opening 2 hours early due to the Extra Magic Hours. So the GMF breakfast does not get you in the park early.

Hi there,

we stayed last month in the Santa Fe Hotel and booked the GMF. But we were not given a specific time... In May we stayed in the Newport Bay Club, had also the GMF but here we were given a specific time... We were a little bit confused... But the main thing is: that you get something for breakfast :)

Hi there, thanks!

I am staying there in December, when do I book GMF? or even know if there is one going on during my dates?

Hi,

GMF breakfast is available all year round, and you can book it if you are staying at selected Disney hotels. You can wait til you check in at your hotel to book the GMF(ask at reception when you are checking in), or you can phone the Disney booking line (the phone number is in the brochure) to pre-book and have the GMF added to your original booking. I did that about a month ago for our trip in October. You can book as many GMF as the number of mornings you are staying at Disney (ie we are there for 2 nights, so have booked 2 GMF on consecutive mornings).

We go in September and the EMH are evenings only whilst we are there, so we have booked GMF breakfasts for each morning of our stay, apart from the Tuesday (11th) not sure why they couldn't do that day but can do the Weds, Thurs and Friday so happy with that!
My friend went a couple of weeks ago and stayed in the Santa Fe (same place we will be staying) and she said the scrum for breakfast was horrendous, this conviced me to go for the GMF brekkie.

I booked Cheyenne through Expedia. Is there any way I can book GMF breakfast before I check-in on 24/7? Or is the Reservations phone number only for restaurants & Buffalo Bills?

TIA

Ocky

We (me, hubby and 3 kids age 15, 14 & 12) are staying at SL next week, Mon-Fri :woohoo:

We plan on having only one GMF breakfast as last time we were there the kids weren't keen on it (no idea why). I have persuaded them that a 9.30 GMF breakfast on Wednesday is a good idea to take advantage of the EMH.

We are planning on having an early breakfast (7-7.30) two mornings. I thought that this might help beat the crowds we have heard about and have told the kids to pack joggers and a t-shirt that they can throw on when they get up so we can eat first then get ready after breakfast. This might be a complete disaster as the kids probably won't get up and even if they do everyone (apart from my husband) will be too asleep to eat. Going to give it a go anyway.

We plan to have a lie in on Thursday morning and will probably miss breakfast altogether!

Ocky, I'm not sure what the situation is with booking GMF through Expedia, as I booked direct with Disney, but I believe you can request GMF when you arrive. I only booked mine today for a weeks time and there was availability so you may be ok to wait until you get there.
