Ugrading to Deluxe Dining so need to add a breakfast in not keen on character but I need a breakfast close to or at Epcot

We enjoyed Garden Grill more. The food is more limited but it has everything we'd normally eat on the buffet anyway. I was not impressed with Cape May breakfast buffet. It was more limited in choices than Crystal Palace and Tusker House but still had an omelette station if you want that.

I have both booked next week, but if you're going for food and not characters, try Trattoria al Forno on the Boardwalk. Still a character meal, but better food. The characters there were awesome too!

We are big Cape May BF fans and I recommend it. There are lots of choices and everyone finds plenty they like. We are trying Garden Grill BF this trip just to try something new so can't comment yet, but eating early and riding Soarin early is our plan this trip. :flower1:

I agree about Trattoria al Forna - the food was delicious. It is a character meal but we really enjoyed the food. It is not a buffet - they bring the food to you and you get muffins and danish and get to choose a breakfast meal. We do like Garden Grill as well.

I haven’t had breakfast at Cape May, but I was really disappointed with our GG breakfast. Dry, dry, dry over cooked eggs (both with our first platter and the refill), weird tasting sausage and over cooked tater tots...though the sweet rolls were good. However, most WDW buffets I’ve been to are hit or miss (some great food, some not so much). Given my experience, I’d chose breakfast based on the characters I wanted to meet, not the food!

Edited to add: I reread your post and see characters aren’t your thing. In that case, you could also try Ale and Compass breakfast at YC. In general, I think most TS places with characters have more hit or miss meals than TS restaurants without characters.

Ok yall thanks to your suggestions I just booked Trattoria Al Forno
Good choice. We enjoy Cape May breakfast for the characters, but love Trattoria Al Forno for both food and characters. Since you’re concerned about the food, Trattoria is the way to go.

That's a good choice! I hear great things about Trattoria. I had it booked for our July trip and I was looking forward to it but my kids did not like the menu so I cancelled. Maybe next time.
I hope you like it.:thumbsup2

A characterless breakfast @ Epcot..how about the France Pavilion? Les Halles Boulangerie to be exact.
Normally that's what we would do, that or sunshine seasons we love the breakfast panini there but I need more bang for the buck since we have deluxe dining...

Best bang for your buck on deluxe dining plan?
Maybe forgo hot food for a Continental breakfast of fruit, yogurt and/or a pastry with the refillable mug used for free hot bevs. We use snack credits for that kind of breakfast, then 1 TS for lunch and 2 TS for a signature dinner. And just as a heads up some offerings at the French bakery are probably on the snack credit list.

I stayed at the Boardwalk in January. There is actually a side room in Trattoria al Forno that does not have the character interaction. Breakfast was delicious and I didn't have to pay extra for the characters.
