I have found thread of this subject but they are old so I was wondering..
It's just my husband and I. Trying to find which one has the best food and prices. It's the last adp I need to fix for my trip!

Thanks!

Captain's Grille will be a nice, quiet, enjoyable breakfast vs Cape May with the characters.

The buffet at Captain's Grille is not as big as Cape May's but it's plentiful. Plus they offer a la carte options as well.

Captain's Grille offers a 10% discount with the Disney Visa.

We are adults with no kids and usually do a few character buffet breakfasts a trip. Cape May is one of the best if not the best so I would go with that.

Captain's Grille, for sure! They have a lovely breakfast and much less hectic than Cape May, but we're not into character meals, anyway.

If you want a character meal then Cape May if you just want breakfast go to Captains Grille, they have a full menu as well as a buffet, you choose and not everyone in your party has to do the buffet, last time I was there 2 did the buffet and 2 of us did the menu and we were all pleased.

We are an adult couple also and love going to Cape May for breakfast. Awesome character interaction and food is not bad at all. Plus it is one of the quieter character meals.

we make adrs sunday and we are torn bewtween these 2 breakfasts. we are 2 adults , no kids , they are grown

Oh, I was just checking the menu because I couldn't remember the name of the French toast I liked at captain's grille, and it appears the restaurant is undergoing refurbishment, has been moved to the beach club, and will not offer the buffet through "fall 2017"

And, my French toast (lavender was involved) is off the menu. So check the menu for something that appeals to you. The food is quality. Cape May is a buffet. I was not impressed.

I've enjoyed both of these. When I went to breakfast at Cape May Café it actually was pretty quiet and slow. I had a later seating and maybe the crowds had been and gone. Captain's Grille is one of my favorite WDW restaurants. I don't know when your trip will be, but if Captain's Grille is still under refurbishment, then it will be at the temporary location at Ariel's, and as the previous poster mentioned, no buffet. My past breakfasts at Captain's Grille were buffet, and I haven't tried their breakfast a la carte menu. I'm curious how the Captain's Grille décor will be different after the refurbishment, as I enjoyed their nautical décor and I hope they keep the theming. I've actually been trying to book a Captain's Grille breakfast for November but so far it looks like no time slots have been loaded into the system for it.

I agree, its one of the quietest character meals around. The food is quite good too!! The characters are awesome. Cape May is one of my faves.

Same debate for my party but we do have a child. We still decided on captains grill. Hoping refurb done by December
