What is the best breakfast buffet that is not in any of the parks?

I would say 1900 Park Fare is the best one I've been to not in the parks. Excellent service, food and atmosphere!

My vote would be Boma at AKL. They don't use steam tables, the food is always very fresh, and some of the food offerings are unique. I love the frunch (a juice made with emonade, pineapple juice, guava juice, orange juice, and papaya juice). This is not a character breakfast, which makes it even better in my book (I am not a character hater, by any measure, but I can do without them first thing in the morning, thank you very much). Also, AKL is so beautiful, and a nice benefit to eating here is that you can visit the savannahs to view the animals before or after your meal.

So far my favorite has been 1900 Park Fare. I love it that they have an omlette station. I also love their bread pudding and strawberry soup! My second favorite is the Cape May one at the Beach Club. Not quite as much selection as 1900 Park Fare but less hectic and noisy and the best fresh fruit I have ever eaten in my life.

I agree however, sometimes you don't want characters in the morning! If that is your case either Boma or the Trails End Buffet at Ft. Wildnerness would be good bets.

Our choices would be Boma and Whispering Canyon Cafe. Although WCC is an all you care to eat family style platter instead of a traditional buffet.

Can't give you a review because we haven't eaten there, but we have an ADR for breakfast at Fresh (Dolphin). The menu looks great, and it has a lot of fans here at the Dis. They have stations - carved meat, omelets, baked goods, fruit, fresh juices, etc. And you can get a discount with your AAA card.

For us it is Cape May or Goofys Beach Bash ( it has been called both names). This place is consistently great...there are a ton of food items to choose from including steamed asparagus (it is very good). There is a huge yogurt bar with awesome fruit choices, there is a huge assortment of fruit at this buffet. Since it is never that busy you get alot of character time (Goofy, Minnie, Chip and Dale all in their bathing suits). The bread pudding is out of this world!

We tried 1900 Park Faire and did not like it, maybe we went too late (10:30), the food was hard, overcooked and dried out, the breads and pastries were stale, there was only one egg/omelet station open and the line was very long, the fruit tasted like other items in the fridge (you know like onions or something), the strawberry soup was very good. This place is super loud and the tables are crammed together. The characters spent all of 2 seconds with us (pooh, Tigger, Mad Hatter and Alice in Wonderland).

I am looking forward to our next trip so we can try Boma!

Boma. Great food, frunch, no steam tables and you can check out the lodge while you are there.

1900 Park Fare would be my vote also!! Very good food and different charecters like mary popins, and onetime we saw fairy godmother!!

Chef Mickey's hands down our favorite. We go every trip. It is tradition. Such a fun breakfast.

I agree that Cape May is an excellent breakfast buffet. Loved the yogurt bar--the fruit was fantastic. The characters were dressed in cute beach attire and there seemed to be a good selection of breakfast items. I have also heard that Ohana's Lilo and Stitch breakfast is good but haven't tried it yet--maybe on our upcoming trip.:goodvibes

I really appreciate everyone's input! The omlet station at 1900 Park Fare is really appealing because my boyfriend loves omlets (I don't like them, but I will try them). But the character part of it is sort of a downfall. Eric wasn't very impressed with the last character meal we did.:confused3

For a character meal, I would say Chef Mickey's. For a Non Character meal my vote goes to Boma with the Yacht Club Galley not far behind. :thumbsup2

My favorite - Boma. Huge selection. It's cheaper because it's not character and also more quiet.

We like Trail's End Buffet at Fort Wilderness.:thumbsup2 They have a nice variety. DH loves the breakfast pizza. I love the biscuits and gravy. This is a well kept secret at WDW. It is a nice relaxing country setting, we love to sit on the porch in a rocking chair with a coffee.

I've never been to Boma (although from reading this post, it certainly sounds like I should!), but I like 1900 Park Fare and Trail's End best. I also really like the buffet at the Maya Grill at Coronado Springs--it's got some yummy stuff as well!

Another vote for Trails End. Best kept secret on the property. I love the Hashbrown casserole and Corn Beef Hash.
