I understand they are now serving a breakfast buffet at the Wave. Since we'll be at BLT, I thought we might try it.

Has anyone been there?

Me too. I've never heard of a buffet at the Wave.

There was a blog entry (very positive review) on allears.net about it. They said they tried it in December and decided to continue through January. I made a ressie for 10:50 a.m. on January 30 and hope they will still have the brunch then.

i just checked out the blog, and we would definitly love that, hopefully it will run regularly until july/aug 2011

I was there on January 1st. It was a very nice breakfast buffet. I tried a lot of different things, and they were all good:

-Eggs Benedict with Key Lime Hollandaise. I don't like Hollandaise sauce, but the citrus flavor was interesting and different.
-Grits with bacon and cheddar. This was creamy and cheesy - very solid comfort food.
-Pancakes with Mickey waffle and syrup. Standard but still good. Allears currently shows sweet potato pancakes, which sound like a nice improvement.
-Onion and pancetta quiche. Slightly dry but still good flavor.
-The warm cinnamon bun was amazing. I liked it better than Main Street Bakery's.
-The other standard offerings (scrambled eggs, roasted potato, fruit, hard boiled egg) were also good. And there's more to choose from that I didn't try. My one wish is that they offered chicken or turkey sausage in addition to the pork.

Also, when we were there, all the plates were kept really hot. I saw kids struggling to bring their plates back to the table because the plates were so hot. Furthermore, while the fruit tasted good if I ate it quickly, I didn't enjoy the fruit if it sat on the plate for a few minutes and became warm. Still, the buffet was an impressive offering, considering The Wave was still serving its regular menu.

Thanks for the information, DDW! :goodvibes

Wow, we love the Wave's breakfast!! My dd loves their biscuits more than any others she's ever had anywhere. Would love to try different things on their menu, but it looks like the test is thru the end of this month. We're going the 2nd week of Feb...maybe they'll still have it?? Wonder if there's a way to call and find out.

Our vacation is in June and I just booked breakfast ressies at the Wave thru Disney's website. My assumption is that the breakfast buffet is here to stay. Nowhere on the website did it mention that it was still being tested. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Sorry, I just realized that breakfast is ALWAYS offered at the Wave, just not the buffet. Duh! Anyway, here's hoping the buffet will stick around!

Does anyone if the buffet at The Wave is going to be ongoing? I have ressies for 2/5 and hoping this is still in place.

Our Ratings of The Wave (Breakfast Buffet):
. . . food price value: C+
. . . food quality: B
. . . food quantity per serving: B
. . . food prep speed: B
. . . food selection: C
. . . seating quantity: B (not yet widely known, so not busy)
. . . seating comfort: B
. . . eatery atmosphere: C
. . . eatery convenience: B
. . . staff friendliness: B
. . . staff helpfulness: A
. . . character interaction: n/a

NOTE: This is a new location for a breakfast buffet. The buffet
is not overly lengthy or widely diverse, but more than ample in
selection and quantity. At just under $20/ adult, it is a reasonable
buffet for WDW, but the selection quantity slightly reduces the
perceived value to a "C+" from a "B". However, as buffet breakfast,
it is probably the best-kept secret in WDW.
