I am trying to decide which breakfast buffet to make ABRs for...they all seem to carry all the same basic breakfast items and each restaurant seems to have a good following so my question is this --- which item at which restaurant is sooooo good that keeps you coming back to that restaurant. TIA

We like the breakfast buffet at Boma and think its particularly good

Does it matter if there are characters or not?

We LOVE Crystal Palace for the food. We enjoy the Breakfast Lasagna and that they can "make to order" Mickey choc chip pancakes. This is my girls' favorite breakfast.

If you have girls then the PSB is also a must for the princesses. We do enjoy their cinnimon rolls as well.

Those are our top favorites.

what items in particular did you like that were not offered at other buffets?

No, not at all as we are mom and 2 grown daughters! I am leaning towards CP but we already have dinner ressies there another day so I was thinking of trying some place new (based on something unique - like the breakfast lasagna)

thanks for your replies!

We used to eat at CP for dinner for our trips and finally tried it for breakfast a couple of years ago and now my girls INSIST we eat there for breakfast every trip! It's the breakfast 'lasagna', the breakfast pizza, the choc croissants and the freshly made choc chip mickey pancakes! Of course, they do have the omelet station as well but we're not an omelet family.

Good luck deciding.

We were planning to try CP - what about for a 2 year old? Will he still enjoy it? How old were your girls?

He loves pooh!

Thanks.

Well, if your little one loves Pooh, then I think he'll LOVE CP!

My girls have been going to CP since they were ages 2 and 5 till our last trip when they were ages 7 and 10.

Here's my little one when she was 3, nose kissing Tigger:

Our family favorite for breakfast is Ohana Breakfast at the Poly. Our boys have it at the top of their "To Do" list every trip. Mom and Dad like it too. The character interaction is great and they serve you instead of the up and down of regular buffet meals.

Your picture with your daughter and Tigger should be on the brocure. We'll definately go to CP Breakfast.

Do you suggest going on an early entry morning or a non-early entry morning?

Thanks!

I prefer going on a morning when the park opens at 9:00a and then I try for an 8:00a ADR so that way we walk down Main Street practically alone and get some GREAT pictures.

Then when we get done, the park is just opening!

1900 Park Fare - Strawberry Soup.

Of all the restaurants, in all of the World, this is the single item I look forward to most. Add to that the fact that at 1900 Park Fare they make omlettes to order and this buffet has two things that none other offers. Also, outside of the food realm, this buffet has face characters. Alice, Mad Hatter, Mary Poppins usually. Sure, they have a couple of Pooh characters as well, but it is much more fun talking to Alice about seeing her in the park or at the Tea Party, or joking around with that silly Mad Hatter, than trying to perform limited two way communication with a character who can't speak. And you get to see the Grand Floridian when you eat at 1900 Park Fare, and that is always a treat.

How far in advance do you have to book to get at 8 am on your day? We are going in April, but waiting until January to book it. Or should I make a good guess and book the breakfast now?

The early, park opening ADRs go fast, IMHO so I'd book that as soon as you possibly can. I'd go by previous year's EMH and historical hours (if the park hours aren't out yet) and hope for the best.

You could always call back and try for a different day later but at least you'd have one ADR at 8:00a and that's better than nothing!

Definately Crystal Palace, they had so much more choice than anywhere else. Fresh friuit, breads and rolls, so mny spreads for them, the hot dishes seemed so superior to everywhere else like the potato casserole, the breakfast lasagna, the custom omelettes etc, fresh smoked salmon, cold cuts, boiled eggs, pastries, it was just so extensive, and the winnie the pooh characters were wonderful. Like others have siad, i love getting the 8am seating, then everything is completely fresh its not full yet, and I am ready for rope drop at 9am.

Ohana gets an honourable mention for the pineapple bread, fruit juice unique to Ohana and great character interaction, as well as the parade and such.

But Crystal palace takes the prize. :thumbsup2

Some Crystal palace food piccies for you:

Cape May, love the bread pudding and the fresh fruit and yogurt bar.

Crystal Palace, love the puffed french toast!

Without a doubt, the puffed french toast at Crystal Palace is the one thing which keeps us (well, me) going back. It really is amazingly good :thumbsup2

Here's a piccy

We have found the rest of the buffet offerings at CP to be good too - my DD still raves about the raspberry crumb cake. Have you guessed we're a family with a sweet tooth :rotfl2:

We went for our first trip in May of this year. After scouring this board for information and one of the best pieces of info was to make a reservation at Crystal Palace early before the park opens.

Not only was it wonderfully vacant but we could take some great photos with out picture intruders:)

My husband and I loved the atmosphere which was very bright and the puffed pooh bear french toast was something we still talk about.

My son had his first character experience there and it was indescribably wonderful (he is autistic ~ and yes I cried)

It was so good we cancelled another reservation and got another breakfast reservation later that week.

Have fun !!!!!

I made 8:05 ADR's for our last full day of our vacation. It's not on an EMH day, so we'll hopefully get to take some empty park photos.

I'm not familiar with the walk to the CP from the entrance or the "instructions" you are given upon entry (like "go directly to the CP; do not stop; do not pass go :lmao: ), so do you have a few minutes to take some family photos; etc.?

Another vote for CP...it is our absolute favorite. We did dinner in '06 and breakfast in '07. We preferred breakfast and that is what we have scheduled for '08.
We have never done O'Hana for breakfast but are looking forward to trying it on the upcoming trip.
