Breakfast Buffet at Trails End

Maybe the High unemployment and bad economic conditions have slowed travel at FW. I know we skipped last year because of this. Las Vegas is very bad off also. We will be there this fall, as far as going to a Resort its still a good price..

Well, looks like we will be eating our breakfasts at the TT.
Skipping our pizza take out night at TE.
looks like we will not visit TE at all.

Thanks for the information. I will not be going there to eat. Where is Golden Corlal???

WE had one where we live but it closed down. Would love to go back.

We went to the one on Vineland. Take Rt 4 E to exit 68 (1st or 2nd exit-can't remember exactly) it's rt. 535. Cross rt. 535 onto Vineland (it's straight across from exit ramp). Golden Corral is on the left (8708 Vineland Ave, Orlando if you have GPS). Then...when you leave turn left and go down to the outlet mall and check out the disney outlet! :goodvibes

And, how about that, we were both right about Trail's End takeout! So, what is the status now? Is there take out for breakfast and lunch?TCD

Sorry I didn't get back sooner on this Andrew. No takeout for breakfast and lunch - except for the pastries for breakfast. You still have to visit the Meadow(s) snack bar for QS meals.

It's sad that at a campground you can't even get a burger or hot dog.

When they re-modeled Roaring Forks & the QS at the Grand Floridian, they ruined both of them IMHO. Roaring Forks used to have a "Chef's Special" every evening that, no matter what was being served, was over the top good. We especially loved the turkey & mashed potatoes on Saturday nites, and I loved the cheesesteak sandwich. We'd drive over from home just for those. I also miss terribly when you could drop into Crocketts for some wings, or chicken strips, or a slice of pizza, or a strawberry shortcake they would bring over from the HDDR. Then there were the days that Crocketts was a full service restaurant. Pricey? Yes! But always delicious.

Oh contrar - there is never a shortage of burgers or hot dogs at the fort. I just cruise the loops and look hungry. Sometimes, to accomodate my fellow campers, I bring my own buns.

I wrote a letter to Jean Gallagher and I'm mailing it today. I told her that a forum of quite a few people were not coming back and that the food is not satisfactory anymore.

I also mentioned that the only reason a lot of us drop in is to see one of the wait staff we've known for a while or to get a drink refill. I didn't want to totally bash their efforts and mentioned the pool upgrade and some other things have made the fort better. Hopefully if we all send this we will see some action.

If any grilling is being done on site 617 you don't even have to leave the sidewalk to snag a treat!!! That site's like an open buffet!!

You remember when they had a guy singing in Trails end and the pizza was good. Those were the days.

I loved those philly cheesesteaks. I felt like I had about 50 of them on our honeymoon at WL. My favorite now at RF is the freshly prepared salads. I hope that they still have them this year. I like to ride the bikes over to WL, meander around a little, and then scarf down some food.

I always thought that Crockett's was a very good restaurant. I wonder why they closed it down and went to buffet only?

We have spent many weeks camping there in the past. But, when gas went up so high in price, we went back and stayed in a resort for the first time in years. It was different. Not as much fun, but in other ways nice. For this trip in December for the RADP meet, we can only get away for four days. But our AP rate for All Stars was cheaper than staying at the Fort! Hard to pass that up.

I still want to come back down after our youngest gets into college. I can then come back down in the off season and spend a couple of weeks there so it makes the drive worthwhile. But it doesn't sounds like going back to TE is worth it. Not even to see Ken.

Bummer!!!!

Asian Jason will fix everything, sorry it took me so long to find this thread. I am voting with my wallet, and not writing letters. The trailer is going, and unless something bizarre happens, we won't be at Disney anytime in the near future..... We might buy annual passes so we can take Polock Jason, but we will be staying in a real hotel and giving the thieving *******s as little of my money as possible.....

ok, i'm putting the soapbox away.

I keep telling you people that snails end sux, will people now listen when the prophet speaks.....
