Can anyone share what the breakfast is like at Westin? We have complimentary breakfast included in our Amex package so want to make use of this; however, we also want to get to the parks as early as possible as we are only there for 2/3 days. Can anyone confirm what time breakfast starts? Is it a buffet or a la carte? Fast service?

Thanks for any intel!

I've only had continental breakfast in the lounge as a Marriott elite but it had the highest food quality of any breakfast I've had in the Disneyland area (and I've eaten at many places). From what I know about the Westin brand, your breakfast should be a full buffet in the hotel restaurant that should be similar quality to what I had but with more options. It should start at 6:30 but call ahead to confirm. You could wake up before 6:30, eat and then be at the gates in time for rope drop.

If you have the full restaurant breakfast, it's something you probably wouldn't want to skip. If you somehow get the lounge breakfast instead of the restaurant breakfast, you could just grab a bagel or something to go but the lack of substantial hot foods makes the variety pretty lackluster.

I was just there for a few days. We didn't eat there before going to the parks, we would have had to pay and get up earlier, but I believe that breakfast starts at 6:30. We did eat in the restaurant the morning of our departure. My daughter got the buffet and I ordered off the menu. The food was good and the service was great. I'd say you could make the meal as quick as you need it to be if your going to the parks. If it was free for us, I probably would have at least gone done and ate there myself while DD slept in.

May I ask…did you walk to DLR through downtown Disney or? I’m trying to figure out the best walking path.

We stayed in September and had breakfast in the Tangerine Room. It was a fairly high scale buffet. You can see the menu and hours on their website.

We thoroughly enjoyed it. It was not quick though, but there is a coffee shop in the complex with quicker options.

We cut through grand Californian to go to the parks.

You were able to do that, especially in the mornings? When we were there the security guard on the walking path wasn’t admitting anyone without a Disney key card or reservation at GCH restaurant or spa.

On the way to the parks, we walked around the back of Paradise Pier to the DTD security point. On the way back we cut through GCH.

Def through DTD, but there is an ART stop right outside and we got lucky a few mornings as it was pulling up as we approached!

I haven't stayed at Westin yet, that is to be where I stay in September. I stayed at the Hilton and in the mornings, went through DTD and back via Harbor. For my Westin stay, I figure I will just do via DTD both directions unless I need to pick up something off of Harbor. I found I was at Walgreens more than I planned my last trip.
